My daughter made the following comment last night at the dinner table....
"Dad, I was just thinking:
Michigan State's coloros are Green and White
Bowling Green's colors are Orange and Brown
Central's are Maroon and Gold
and Toledo's colors are who cares."
Thought I'd just pass on a little falcon's comments for all your enjoyment.

My classic, repeated here from previous posts was when my 9 year old asked why there was a cemetary on the campus at BG. then answered her own question: "Must be for all the people dieing from embarrassment for having to attend BG."
We teach them well don't we?

Not quite as Blue as 12 of the last 14 for 86%Fall win percentage. But Blue is still always a good color, no matter what.
We were just talking about the change in UT non-revs over on our board-pretty remarkable turnaround-there used to be no real thought given to them and I think its changed since O'Brian has been AD. Now we just gotta get the two weak sisters, football and men's hoops in shape.

Can you please elaborate on this 12 of 14 deal? According to my stats, ut won 4 head to head fall matchups (women's soccer, volleyball, women's CC and men's CC) and BG won 2 (football and volleyball in the MAC tourney). I'm just curious...
You have gotten the better of BG this year so far but women's hoops, baseball and softball are on the horizon and we lead you BiG time in all those sports. And it looks promising for men's hoops to close the gap. But over the years, BG has had the better of ut in just about everything.

I know it isn't easy to face the fact BG has won more head to head in most sports but you still have men's hoops for the next few years. I mean we only play once a year and ut's slim lead is 83-76...but we're closing.

You spend a lot of time here so we can't be all that bad, right?
Have a nice Christmas!

Hope the Freaks had a great Christmas as well- next time I see you I'll show you my Rocket SOCKS!!! AWESOME!!! If you're good I'll tell you where you can get them.
The 12 of 14 is based on head to head team matchups- women's X-country and MEn's both won mutliple times (our women beat BG in three seperate meets as I recall) I think tennis and golf may have accounted for more than one each (remember both of those sports have a fall schedule). Yep, we suck at softball most years but remember- all those country club sports and track come up again in the spring and, Oh, yeah- how are your swimmers? I know our have barely topped the Top Forty but we look to improve-that pesky loss to number 8 Michigan being our only blemish in the Fall portion of the schedule-mid-January I suspect we'll add another to our W column. Men's hoops is probably bg's in a walk, women's should be prettty good. We're lousy in baseball and there are multiple games there but I think golf, track, tennis all go to UT and there are multiple matches, meets, etc ther. Face it, BG's minor sports are slipping badly or ours are taking off.
And I'm not one of those who ever thought BG people were bad-just like the rivalry in sports. Much like Factman who spends a fair amount of time over on our board and Toledo errr, RedWing, Tom think the Toledo fans and school are pretty cool, I like almost everybody over here. Hope you and your family have a great NEw YEar's, Freak!

Gotcha....just wanted to be clear on that. We definitely need help in some minor sports, some have never been that strong at BG. But we do pretty well overall against ut in all the sports.
Hey, it's all in good fun, right?

You have a great New Year as well.

Happy New Year to the Freak Family as well. Seems like it almost HAS to be a better one than this one was!

In the interest of disclosure, in his 12 of 14, he is counting multi-team events where UT just happens to finish ahead of BG and not necessarily meaning that Toledo won the event.
But hey, whatever you need to do to make yourself feel better about being a UT fan, I'm all for that.
Have a good new year!!

Pretty much the nature of those sports, Tom, there are almost no dual meets in x-country anymore and golf and tennis are pretty much all multi-team events as well. Both teams compete at the same time under the same rules and UT "just happened" to come out ahead. I guess those shouldn't really count as wins.
And its ALWAYS a great day to be a Rocket, Tom, just as I imagine if you are a BG fan its always a great day to be a BG fan. Have a great New Year, Tom!
