Brian really gets to you, doesn't he? A little pre-season optomism, since we have so little reason for optomism DURING the season. Take a deep breath and let it go, RWT.
Besides, if you read the NCAAbbs you know that every recruit Temple gets is better than any player any other team in the MAC ever had-we're pikers, really, in that regard.
We'll all know in just four years.

I guess if you count that he is a complete moron, then yeah, morons get to me.
And I would hardly call it optimism...or optomism
The only thing Brian is trying to do is sell subscriptions to that rag he works for.

Hey, the man's gotta work. And if you want me to get that spelling right move the doggone 'i" away from the "o" on the keyboard.
Re: TSUN
Let's see if he can stay eligible. If Minnesota, a program that's taken some chances on kids with academic issues in order to try and build the program under Brewster, wouldn't even take a chance on him then that tells me a lot.Redwingtom wrote:To think that enrolling one subjective 4-star Big Televen cast off will suddenly turn that dismal program into a juggernaut is ludicrous at best.

Don't tell RF that. One of the cast-offs they are bringing in this year was rated a 4-star at one point right out of high school but is now a 3-star per rivals so RF still calls the guy a 4-star recruit.factman wrote:He's a 3* anyway!!!!!!!

Today's Blade article actually says they have three kids enrolled that were 4 * recruits out of high school.

Yet they all came from either JUCO's or from other teams that they were not getting any PT at. That should tell you all you need to know.Warthog wrote:Today's Blade article actually says they have three kids enrolled that were 4 * recruits out of high school.

Funny how different people have different views. I talked to someone who worked on the "Fetterman" project form Rudolph-Libbe, and he said they cut a lot of corners and did things on the "cheap". I guess there is nothing wrong with that, but don't try and tell us it is the Taj Mahal if you do. He said he certainly wouldn't trade them fieldhouse facilities.

Yeah, Hack definitely outdid himself on that article. To make a big room with nothing more than a green field in it sound like Ceasar's Palace was quite a piece of....well...journalism.
And reportedly the Toledo coaches are already telling anyone who will listen that new 4-star (actually 3-star) Tennessee and Minnesota cast of recruit James Green will play in the NFL before he has even seen a practice at UT.

Hey guys, how's it going? Love to see the jealousy in this thread. Not sure where factman is getting his facts from (does he ever have the correct facts?) but Green is a 4 star recruit. 5.8 rating. Here's his link for the 2010 recruiting season that has him as a 4 star.

Oh, and he was eligible at Minnesota. Don't let the native Minnesota fans fool you. Minnesota brought in 3 mid-year guys, expecting to have 3 scholarships. But one of the guys that was supposed to graduate in December did not, so they only had room for 2 scholarships. The other two guys coming in had signed NLI's, and Green did not sign a NLI, so they had to tell him he couldn't enroll until summer. Green's uncle, who he had been living with and holds guardianship, wanted James to go somewhere in January so that he could participate in spring practices to give him a better job of playing right away. Tim Beckman recruited Green at Oklahoma State when he was the DC there, so he had some ties to Green and he decided to enroll at Toledo over an offer from Rutgers.
Believe what you want, but them are the facts.
Oh, RWT.....thanks for calling me a moron. I've worked hard for the last few years to hear you say that and it's finally come to fruition.

Re: TSUN
The only thing I am jealous of is your basketball prowess.
You have to go back to 2004 on rivals to find the last time BG had a recruiting class supposedly rated higher than Toledo. And in that time BG has more than held their own against all your prize recruits.
And congratulations, your indoor facility is taller and wider than ours and has its climate controlled by holes in the ground. That should translate into many more wins for your program.
