So, is this a dig at ND or a dig at the MAC?

DJ Gallo from ESPN.com did an article and in it he discussed ND possibly being forced to join a conference if the PAC10 and Big10 expand. What follows is the dig.
9. Notre Dame AD Jack Swarbrick says that if the Pac-10 and Big Ten expand, Notre Dame may be forced to join a conference of its own. "You can each come up with a scenario that would force our hand," he told reporters. Hmm. It's good I'm not a reporter because I'm drawing a blank. Let's see ... Aliens attack Earth and all the nations of the world band together to fight off the invasion. However, in the battle the campus of Central Michigan is destroyed. So, looking to replace CMU with a program of similar quality, the MAC invites Notre Dame to join. Did I get it? Is that one of the scenarios?

I see it as a dig at ND, but thats just me. I expect to be in the minority on this one

It seemed like a dig at Central Michigan. To be said that they could be easily replaced by Notre Dame? Yuck!

Toledo would have probably been a better choice

Truthfully, either of those places could be better served as a toxic waste dump, but then again, one of them already is.

I think it is a dig at both.
He digs Notre Dame by indicating the are at the level of a MAC team and he indicates that the MAC is nothing without Central Michigan. That is why he chose them to be blown up by aliens and making room for Notre Dame to join the MAC.
Dig at both.

It's a dig at Notre Dame and by extension the MAC...I think CMU figured into the joke because they'e the defending MAC football champs and tha's probably about the only thing this guy knows about the MAC.
