I just was watching WTOL, channel 11, tonight and they had Timmy at his news conference today, and one of the reporters questioned him about not using his timeouts at the end of the game and he tried to explain and then got upset and walked off the set! Classy, Timmy.
I'm trying to find the video.

I couldn't find the video, but found this article:

I'm never going to second guess what we do," Beckman said.
So no room for improvement, Timmy?

Geez, he talks a lot. Maybe to keep the press from asking more questions? Seemed like a LOT of rambling to justify the loss.

Jeesh, waterboy, you are usually more original than that. Do you yell "scoreboard" when the losing team cheers too?
I know a couple of things.........."opportuity" must have been Timmy's "Word of the Day" and he couldn't win a speaking contest against Lou Holtz!

Actually I leave that to Drew and Alum. Yes, a cheap shot, late at night that I thought I didn't submit . Gotta get more sleep...
Did he really say "opportuity?"

I don't know...but I find this waaaay more disturbing coming from my starting QB:
"I wish [Northern Illinois] would have scored sooner, so at least we would have had a shot to go down there and score," UT junior quarterback Austin Dantin said

Beckman is an idiot: "So, you want me to in effect say to our defensive players, 'why don't you give up a touchdown so we'll have more time ?' I'm not about to do that."
How is calling a TO saying that to your defense? There's a minute and a half left. NIU had 2 TOs. Even if you call the TOs and your defense stops them, you can practically run out the clock. Also, NIU hadn't stopped UT all night. If all you need to do is get one first down to ensure the win, why would you think they would stop you at this point? Finally, worst case scenario, you call the TOs, don't get a first down or run out the clock, then you are punting it back to NIU with less the 20 seconds left and they are at midfield trying to score instead of inside your ten.
Another stupid comment: "I don't think that giving NIU the opportunity to strategize serves us. Let them make decisions in a hurry. Why give them the opportunity to go to the sidelines and strategize?"
First, there was a minute and a half left. There is no hurry. In fact, NIU was probably taking as much time as possible to leave UT with no time to score. Second, NIU didn't need any extra time to strategize to score their first 56 points of the game. Why does he think that having extra time to strategize now would make a difference? Finally, how about giving your defense a chance to stategize? Obviously NIU has been one step ahead (well actually probably several steps ahead) of your defense all night. Why not give your defense a chance to slow down, think, STRATEGIZE?
It's one thing to make a poor coaching decision. It's entirely off the chart to then tirelessly defend that horrible decision as being the right one. Timmy, just admit you screwed up and move on.

And to add to this, NIU also had time outs left so if they were rushed they had the option to call them and strategize. Moron.

You just keep holding your breath, the rest will take care of itself.
