Big Trouble at Penn State!

Post by Falcon Fanatic »

"Regarding BGSU, I would think their biggest strength is that they never give up, They never slow down and they battle hard even after the other team scores. We have to be on our game and never, ever take the foot off the gas for a second."
~~USCHO Poster
"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

Words escape me. IF the allegations are true, the punishment will be far too lenient.

The more that comes out about this, the more it sickens me. Good column in the Philadelphia Inquirer

It kind of puts not reporting free tattoos in perspective.

First and most importantly I feel bad for the families involved. Secondly I feel bad for PSU alums who have been fooled into thinking PSU does things the right way.

All the allegations with Auburn, OSU, Miami etc is trivial compared to this. Most of the stuff at those places was against NCAA violations or merely unethical. Can't even it compare it to this.

This is why I question why I even follow sports. Yes, winning and money had a bigger priority. Sad.

It is simply horrifying. Staggering.

The impact, the implosion, the last holy-Joe in football.

The idea that Penn State is some kind of pseudo-military, highly disciplined model program was shot to hell some time ago. The dull uniforms and short haircuts can't conceal the arrest records, assaults and other ongoing acts of mayhem on campus up there.

This goes beyond that...anyone and everyone connected to this debacle from the AD on down needs to go...now.

I ree. I was just mean there is a difference between the holes being made and the public perception. We know, we follow the sport in detail. Others don't.

Don't know how many of you were watching SC after the game, but the one broadcaster (whose name I don't know) said the following while clearly very choked up: "When it comes down to it, it's more than a football legacy. It's about people - it's about our children; and if we have come to a point where we can't protect our children, we as a society are pathetic."

Wow - so sad; and so true.

That was matt Millen...former Lions GM, Penn State LB and board member on Sandusky' charity. He was a lousy GM...but given his personal ties to the situation, I thought he was a pretty stand up guy in that interview.

The Penn State prexy is out, and the trustees just fired JoePa effective immediately, after his saying he would remain for the rest of the season.

Wow. Crap is rolling down-hill FAST.

Yep...I about spit my coffee out yesterday when I read Paterno's "retirment" statement. "Don't waste a minute worrying about me"...the gall. If he had a shred of credibility left he would have resigned on Monday. I think it was Michael Rosenberg from the Detroit Free Press who said "once again, Paterno left it for others to do the right thing". I couldn't agree more...
