Stupid Decision or Smart Decision

Smart: Brady Hoke going for two to win the game. If he kicks the PAT, Michigan probably loses in OT. It wasn't likely they would stop the evil empire from scoring TDs.

Stupid: Trying a 57 yard field goal on the last play. The likelihood of a block/return or return was probably as high as making the kick. Take a shot at a pass to the end zone and go to OT. You are the better team, the likelihood is that you will win.

Saban said the kid routinely makes 60 yard FG's in practice and he had a bit of wind in his favor. Sounds like a better percentage of making FG, than a "Hail Mary" pass to me. The return is something that I think was not given much thought by anyone other than Auburns coaches who were originally going to go for the block.

Stupid was going for it on 4th and 2 instead of going for the field goal. Had they made the FG, no need to go for two at the end.

Stupid: Calling a two point play that puts two receivers in a similar position while not setting up a run-pass option for a QB that has been dominant all day when given both run and pass options. I loved the decision to go for two. Hated the specific play call. With a different call that rolls DG out to the right with a back as a lead blocker and two receiving options, he could have thrown or walked it in and won the game.
