Hoosiers QB leaves team

BLOOMINGTON, Ind. (AP) -- Redshirt freshman quarterback Mike Vlahogeorge has left the Indiana football program and will not resume his playing career, IU coach Terry Hoeppner said.
Vlahogeorge never played for the Hoosiers after finishing his high school career at Lafayette Jeff with 10,757 yards in passing yardage to rank fourth in state history. He completed 187-of-377 passes for 3,347 yards and 44 touchdowns as a senior after being recruited to IU by Gerry DiNardo, who was fired after this past season...............................

Not too often someone with those kind of stats just walks away from the game completely without at least trying to play somewhere.
The kid might regret it for the rest of his life, if he doesn't at least give it a shot.

Don't fall victim to putting so much emphasis on athletics. We don't know the whole story here. Who knows what his plans are, maybe he has alot more to offer society that playing a trivial ballgame 3 hours a week, 15 weeks a year. And thats coming from a Bills fan so you know I'm as loyal as anyone to the game. Just because others may want him to be a football player, it doesn't mean he has to want it. If goes on to be a brain surgeon, just hypothetically now, I'd say he made the right choice.
