Steelers vs. Bengals

The spread on this game is even and it looks like everyone in question is going to play on both sides.

Any final thoughts before the big game? I can't remember a game this early in the season having this much of an impact on the North (Central) in quite a while. If the Bengals get up by 2 and a half games, they could coast to the title -- their schedule looks to be much more favorable. That's not a knock on the Bengals, it's just a (presumed) fact that should help the Bengals down the stretch.

I'm really just trying to get my mind off of today's debacle and was wondering if anyone else had thoughts on the game (that didn't hinge on criticizing/defending Carson Palmer).

I'll say 21-17 Steelers win. The stable of Pittsburgh backs run wild for over 200 yards on the Bengals' D.

A loft of hype around this game. Hype scares me. If anyone remembers, there was a lot of hyp around the BG football team as the beginning of this year.

first one to twenty wins. if anyone can get to twenty.

In response to the 200+ rushing yards...
The Bengals are starting pollack at strong side linebacker in the hopes that the stillers do run a lot. Hopefully the strategy will work and will also keep roethlisberger from rolling out which he does so effectively.

Steeler fans just need to hope that the soggy conditions don't lead to more injuries to Ben's knee or Hines' hammy. (That sounds like a good sammich.)

bengals win 24-17!
(or at least i hope) :D

Speaking of hype, I'm gonna say whoever wins this game wins the division.

Man that's a really stupid statement with so much season left, but I actually feel it's true for some reason.

stupid, but true.

here we go! it's who-dey time!!!

but first, a word from NFL analysy John Madden: "The key to winning this game is to score more points than the other team. They need to get into the endzone and keep the other team out! BOOM!"

Very interesting first quarter. Cinci dominated but is only up 3 with Pittsburgh invading their territory. This is gonna be a great game.

Just to reiterate my previous post.

WOW! Is all I have to say. It started off as a great game for the Bengals. We had the wind taken out of our sails very early. I think getting that TD reversed, dropping a wide open TD, and then missing the field goal killed all momentum. (and that was the first drive of the game!)

Everything everyone said was going to happen in this game, didn't. Palmer should have been picked off more than just twice. But oh well. Now they need to look to next week and play week-by-week.

Well I did say Carson Palmer has a long way to go, and it's obvious he does. I also said the Steelers would run for 200 yards and they ran for over that easily. (Although Pollack's injury may have had something to do with that).

Actually most of the stuff I said came true  . It was all the spew Teke said that didn't happen.

The Bengals just had a very bad day against a very bad team on the worst day possible. They will still be in the hunt for a WC spot as I have a gut feeling the Steelers are going to pull away down the stretch.

I thought we were getting the Bears game now in BG? Why are they showing the Eagles and Chargers?

They will show the end of this game and then cut to the bears game.

Get off you high horse. :D I was talking about how we said it would be a close game.

But I think Chad can add another checkmark in the "no" column this week. Although he didn't have a TD, it was a hell of a move to make that catch. Then that catch down the sideline with a couple of minutes left.
But before you think I love Chad, I have to comment. Chad needs to shut his mouth and catch the damn ball! He had the most drops last year and is already in the lead for most drops this year.

Hey, that's what you get for dissing my lucky hat. I put it on as soon as I woke up this morning. The lucky hat never fails.

Does anybody really think CJ will ever put a check in the yes column? He's too much of a pompous asshat to do that even though he had almost no positive effect on the game. Before his garbage-time catch, he had 47 yards. 47. But I'm sure he'll come up with some rationalizing excuse to put a check in the no column.

The Bengals looked like they gave up after their 2 nice drives netted them only 3 points. After that, they didn't do anything. I wondered a bit about that since Lewis seems like such a good and passionate coach.

you can get on chad all you want...he can play. he talks a lot..he backs it up..the bengals would not be where they are without him. without him houshmanzadeh gets double teamed and the D pulls enough up to stop Rudi Johnson..

Palmer didnt lose the game..I dont think he has that far to go. He didnt drop the pass wide open in the end zone..it wasnt his arm that hit the sideline before both feet could hit the ground. he didnt miss the FG after the TD was called back either..he also doesnt play defense, he wasnt responsible for letting the steelers run all over the field.

with all that. Bengals still lead AFC North

They also got to play again.

one last thing....the only thing that I said was going to happen was that the bengals would win...

everything else i said was about Palmer being more grown up and more mature and i dont think he did anything today to prove me wrong..nothing was his fault today. he certainly didnt lose the game for them

i said CJ would score a TD and I am not so sure that he didnt score the TD..i only saw 1 replay of it i didnt see the game but the 1 angle i saw looked to me like he had both feet down.

oh well
