Talk about the Buckeyes the Wolverines the Hilltoppers the Ducks the Beavers the Chanticleers... or anyone else who isn't BG or an opponent in this forum.
Fiesta Bowl Reps have been to every single OSU game this year. OSU has been there 2 of the last 3 years and sold the place out.
OSU travels better than any one else in the nation.
I think they are a lock for fiesta bowl but what would the people rather see? OSU or Oregon.
NOT just because I am an OSU fan but I think people overall would rather see OSU v ND. Oregon does not have a big fan base, people do not hate them just there ugly uni's. I think people would love to see if ND can take down the Much Hated Buckeyes across the nation. Plus, It would be a better test for ND and OSU. I think ND would romp all over Oregon.
OSU and ND would be a very good game much like OSU UM turned out to be.
I know a lot of you hate OSU...what do you guys want to see in Tempe.

except for, arguably, notre dame.
either way, with osu or nd, the game will easily sell out. big time bowl games don't not sell out. that being said, osu-nd is a more compelling matchup, but, putting these two teams in two different bowls will mean big attendence numbers at two games rather than one.
At the end of the year we usually have 5 teams vying for 2 at large bids. Unfortunately teams that are more deserving sometimes get the schneid.
Oregon Notre Dame vs Ohio State Notre Dame? Oregon has gone 10-1 with their only loss to USC and they beat a pretty good Fresno State team. Ohio State is 9-2, CO Big 10 Champions with losses to PSU and Texas.
Both are deserving. Oregon is more deserving in my opinion but it would be a smarter business decision to have a Notre Dame Ohio State matchup. Chris Fowler had some interesting observations. He said that 25K fans showed up for their Fiesta Matchup with Colorado in 2001. Additionally, he stated that the Nielson ratings for this game were larger than the 2003 Fiesta Bowl matchup against Kansas State.
Let me preface this by saying that I hate Ohio State as much, if not more, than anyone else on this board. I moved to Columbus this summer and have since grown to hate them even more due to the insane amount of coverage given these semi-pro athletes.
With that said, though, there is no way that Oregon would come within 3 TD's of the Buckeyes. The fact that they are being considered for a BCS bowl is absurd. It's great that they have continued to win without their quarterback. However, they're beating the patsies of the Pac-10 and winning by less than 10 points almost every week. The BCS would be absolutely foolish to pick Oregon over Ohio State. Ohio State is a better team that will bring more people to the game and have more people watch on TV.

I personally witnessed my Wildcats come within a touchdown of beating Oregon this year. Arizona played one of the sloppiest games I have ever witnessed at any level of football, yet they still had a chance to beat them. I have little respect for Oregon.

I am not exactly sure how Oregon could be better deserving, They didnt win their conference, OSU shared it. only lost to who will be national champs Texas and co champs penn state. I beleive like everyone else that Big Ten needs a 12th team and have a championship game but thats the way it is.
I also think that the PAC 10 is weak. besides USC anyone else can beat anyone else in that conference. there are no other dominant teams. Big ten atleast has 2 sometimes 3 every year. this year was PSU and OSU.
thats just my opinion..i am suprised this has only gotten 4 responses. i thought it was gonna be a rip OSU festival.
Cal had the better record, better ranking, yet Texas got the Rose bid. All thanks to Mack Brown calling on the BCS cronies telling them to take Texas instead.
oh...i dont remember. But it doesnt suprise me though. Texas is more appealling nationally. there is a biased for big 12 powers over pac 10 besides USC maybe UCLA if they wre any good.
Oklahoma, Texas, LSU Florida, Florida State, Miami and Va. Tech (when there is a vick playing) Notre Dame and USC are all favored by the media. They hate the big ten, big east now that miami and va tech are gone, and all mid majors except Boise and fresno in the WAC.
They like PSU and Michigan when they play OSU
They like OSU when they DO NOT play any of the above mentioned teams

and they pretty much hate everyone else.
Bottom Line is nothing suprises me

Poster on BG message board complaining that OSU gets dissed by the media = the definition of irony.
The national media loves Ohio State because they have a national following. They are one of the few college teams that has tons of tons of tons of fans that were never affiliated with the Univ. This is also the reason why they are a near lock for a BCS bowl if they are anywhere near the top, just like Notre Dame.
Put any Ohio State team against any BCS school anywhere in the country and a bowl game, and the fans will go there. If I were a bowl exec., and I chose Oregon over Ohio State for my bowl that was located....anywhere but Oregon, I should get fired. The sole purpose of a bowl game is to make some ca$h, and OSU will do that for you.
