Summer Beer

Post by VDub26Falcon »

What are your favorite Seasonal Summer Beers?

I've always liked Sam Adams Summer Ale. It's a nice light taste and goes down very smooth.

Lienenkugel Summer Shandy is one of my absolute favorites although I almost prefer making my own Shandy with a bottle of Labatt Blue Light with some Simply Lemonade added to it...or the Meijer equivalent.

Bell's Brewery in Kalamazoo makes a summer beer called Oberon and that is a wheat beer, but much lighter than a Blue Moon. One of my favorite beers to drink when I'm in Michigan during the summer.

Bud Light?

Not a fan of most of the "summer" seasonals. Oberon is pretty good, but other than that I'd usually just rather save the cash and drink Bud Light over most of the summer seasonal brews.

Oberon is huge up here for summer. Everyone seems to know when it will be released and the bars are packed. If you like the summer shandy, I would suggest finding some of this Austrian beer Image

I like Kolsch beers in the summer, Goose Island Summertime is a decent American version. If I had money I would be making one of my own. Probably the best beer I've made was a Kolsch.
