That is really great that Stimmel's is trying to get back on their feet!!! I know it was said that the bakery was the only thing open...does that include not selling beer and things of that nature???

That is correct. I was in there a couple weeks ago when they were newly re-opened. They had the bakery items, and they had a couple drink coolers with pop/milk/etc.VDub26Falcon wrote:That is really great that Stimmel's is trying to get back on their feet!!! If you want my personal opinion I would be very surprised if they re-opened the beer/wine portion of the store. The selection was too much for a town like BG, and they didn't move enough product to keep things fresh. I tried to buy there occasionally, but it wasn't my favorite store to buy beer in the area. Too many of the microbrews are unpasteurized and they need to be stored cold (at least cellar temps), and or drank quickly. Too often I would find brews like Nosferatu that I know only gets brewed in the late summer/fall still sitting around at Stimmel's 6 months later on the floor. I loved the store and what they tried to do, but they didn't have the cooler space or sales volume to support that kind of selection and maintain the freshness of the product. It's a shame, but BG just doesn't have the volume of beer drinkers to support that kind of selection.
I'm thrilled to see the bakery open again, because it's the only place I ever buy doughnuts. I'd also love to see the Deli open again, they had great meats & cheeses.
