Weigh-in after basketball puts me at just under 10 pounds lost so far. Yeah for me! I could certainly tell the difference on the court in my stamina.

VDub... took your suggestion and ordered the Asiago Peppercorn Steak at Applebees last night. It was really good, although I am still trying to learn how to eat veggies. I just am not a fan. I'd rather eat hundreds of apples or oranges than a bite of broccoli :-)
Have you tried the frozen variety of any veggie yet? I think they are tastier that way. Although my wife doesn't agree so I rarely get them.
I'm fat, but I've always been a fan of veggies. Problem for me is I love all food...meat, carbs, veggies, fruits, etc, etc. I eat way too much because I just eat for pleasure way too much. Whatever, I'm at the lightest I've been since HS so I can't complain too much.

My take on veggies is:

In season Fresh >>>> frozen > out of season fresh > canned

Generally speaking if a vegetable isn't close to being in season you're better off with the frozen versus the fresh varieties. Broccoli is pretty fantastic regardless, IMO. Been eating a lot of fresh asparagus as its been in season in the garden for awhile...can't go wrong with that either. Either roast it in the oven, or throw the spears on the grill.

South Beach has a great asparagus recipe with ginger (fresh), crushed red pepper seeds, sesame seeds and sesame oil. Made it last night- used to hate aspaagus but eat it pretty often these days.

I'm with ya there. I hated asparagus growing up, but the last few years it's become one of my favorite veggies.

That recipe sounds pretty awesome to me. I absolutely LOVE fresh ginger...so freaking GOOOOD.

I managed to hold steady over my vacation. Down 13 pounds so far today after bball. :-D

I hit the 25 pound mark yesterday. On my 5'6" frame, it makes a pretty good difference. Just 50 more to go. lol

More and more I read that you SHOULD weigh every day. You should expect some up and down but frequent weigh-ins don't allow for a 5-7 pound surprise gain that you pretended wasn't happening because you didn't see it in black and white. Seems to be working for you.

And to all the others pursuing healthier lifestyles- Great job!

Just added all this up and counting everyone who has posted a loss we've dropped a combined 178 pounds, I think. My 3 pound backslide kept us from hitting 180- I'll try to do better.

Haha. Yeah. To hit my ideal weight/BMI for my height I am actually supposed to lose about 80 more, but I think that would make me look anorexic. I was meant to be curvy. I just want to get healthy again; that's my ultimate goal.
