Out of curiosity, though, if one were to make an "adult" apple cider, what would be a good addition? There's a winery near Bloomington that sells a solid "Hard Cider", that works great with mulling spices and cinnamon added, but to take a jug of fresh cider off the shelf, throw in some cinnamon and/or other spices, what booze would go well with it?

I definitely like cinnamon schnapps in apple cider. It's a good combo.

My favorite autumn food? A huge bubbling cauldron of potato soup. Throw some chunks of ham in there, and top with bacon bits. Dip some bread or biscuits in there and you'r in fine shape. I always make 2 huge pots of it this time of year and eat it for a week or two.

Last year, Frickers had a sale on bulk chicken chunks. They were pretty nasty with the sauce they provided, so I threw those into a pot of potato soup instead of ham. That came out really well too.

Oooooooh. Clam chowder. One of my favorite delights.

Here was a beef stew recipe I tried. I cut it in half and cooked at a slightly higher temp for a shorter amount of time. Turned out very, very good.

If I were to do it again, I would increase the amount of beef stock. This is a very VERY thick stew which could stand for some more liquid.

Okay then, next question... what proportion? I've done hot chocolate with Peppermint Schnapps before, and found that too much schnapps kills the drink. The cinnamon might have a different flavor to it so it may not matter as much, but what would be a good proportion to work towards?

If I can figure a good way to do it at home, and bring it to a game, it's sounding tasty for Miami(OH), depending on the forecast...

I'm all about pumpkin pie this time of year.

I'm making versions 1.5 and 1.6 of my soon-to-be-famous homestyle chili this weekend. Chili tastes wonderful this time of year.
