Anyone do it?

I've wanted to pickle cukes but you just can't beat Claussen's Kosher Dill.

I've wanted to pickle lemons and firecracker carrots (Alton Brown's version.)

RUIT: My mother and grandmother used to make pickles. Unbelievable. Hard to eat them from a store after that.

Speaking of Alton Brown, he did a bit on pulled pork and casually mentioned a sauce that included sweet pickle juice. I've been meaning to check that, cuz it sounded very tasty.

Um, I don't think "taking some dude's pickle to your liver" is what this conversation's about... :-D

I never graduated beyond pickled eggs and pickled onions. My ex was an undisputed master at chutneys, though. D*mn, she never missed a trick there. Maybe I'll ask her for a couple of recipes. I could call her right now. Then again, I've almost finished this bottle of Barolo. Maybe tomorrow. Maybe not.

After personally killing a bottle of rather tasty Cabernet Franc yesterday at the Chalet Debonne balloon festival, I advise waiting until at least mid-day tomorrow.

A mi, Cabernet Franc = :vom:

Still, I had given serious thought to heading out to the Debonne event. They have some very, very good wines out there. I had seen it in my monthly Debonne newsletter, but I decided that Perching was more fun - and holy cow did I kill the Perch yesterday!

Either way, much love to the Ashtabula Co. wine industry!

And were there any BUI citations?

1) Boat isn't in the water yet. Long story but the dock isn't repaired yet.

2) Wife drove. I was keeping the daughter company in the back seat. She's an entertaining little tot when i'm half in the bag.

Naw. She wasn't in quite my condition. She only had one glass of Riesling Select.

Whoops. Too much time as a boat underwriter. When I read "BUI" I immediately go into boat claims mode.

All ballonists were sober to my knowledge.
