Re: Kool-Aid Pickles
I thought about trying one in Mobile but couldn't...didn't sound good. The locals said they are huge in Mississippi though and best if soaked in any of the red flavors (Strawberry, Cherry, or Tropical Fruit Punch) with DILL Pickles only. I guess it's a real sweet and sour taste but I don't want to try it...haha!bgbill wrote:Anybody have experience with Kool-Aid pickles?
Anyways, he did give me 2 recipes that he knew of to bring back to Ohio that I've never tried. Here they are...
1st One:
-1 (46 ounce) jar whole dill pickles
-2 (1 ounce) packets Kool-aid unsweetened (any red flavor)
-2 c water
-1 c sugar
2nd One:
-Dump out half the juice in the pickle jar
-Add your favorite flavor of premixed Kool-aid to fill the other half
-Wait a few days and enjoy
They are pretty much the same, one just uses more of the actual pickle juice and the other more kool-aid. Have fun and let me know how they taste!

Re: Kool-Aid Pickles
So, are we talking pickles that taste like Kool-Aid, or Kool-Aid that tastes like vinegar? I'm just tingling to know. You see, there is a potentially vast market here for fish & chips with salt and Kool-Aid."Metz-Wait a few days and enjoy

I'm going to try this. Because I'm retarded. And because it will cost me about $0.83.
But mostly because I'm retarded.

Speaking of pickles, apparently in Chicago (at least on the south side) people put a peppermint stick in a whole dill pickle and then eat it as normal. I was blown away when my friend told me about it, I had never heard of such a thing. I love peppermint and pickles, but I just don't know about that. I'm with you Metz- I'm scared to try it!

"Feasting On Asphalt" with Alton Brown is going to have a segment with what appears to be Kool-Aid pickles. They look quite different. They were red like ketchup so maybe freakling 1 might like them. Can you imagine what that might produce if you had a few too many, Captain Eruptus, it gives new meaning to technicolor yawn.

I also saw that, I wouldn't try it though just because I'm not a fan of pickles.oaklane2 wrote:"Feasting On Asphalt" with Alton Brown is going to have a segment with what appears to be Kool-Aid pickles. No, I haven't tried it yet. I was thinking about it and then just totally forgot. I'm thinking that I might try to make them a few days before the Temple game so all of you can suffer through it with me.CapitalFalcon wrote: So, BO, did you try this? What were the results???
