Yeah, yeah, I know. It's not really and Irish tradition. But it's what we have on St. Patrick's Day, nonetheless. Mrs. 87 prepared it last night and, I have to say, did a masterful job. Cooked it about 10 hours in the crock pot, then finished it with a glaze in the oven for about 20 minutes.

What, no corned beef and cabbage thread?
No Corned Beef for me this year. Thought about buying it, but the stuff they make in the store just isn't that great, and I forgot to get a brisket brining a few weeks ago. I don't much care for the traditional St. Paddy's day serving anyways. I much prefer it in reuben or hash form.
Slyman's in Cleveland has the hands down best CB I've ever had, but I haven't gotten to Cleveland in awhile when they're open. Only open Weekdays before about 2:00 or so in the afternoon. If you're ever in C-town on a weekday though, I'd HIGHLY recommend it.

Glad to hear you missed it. I just read Ryan's blog and he mentioned some "30 year old" BG fan getting all over Larson for missing a couple of easy shots. Ryan sounded like this "fan" was making a fool of himself. I was afraid it might have been you.

My father's machine shop was near Slyman's and it was always a treat when he'd say, "let's go get a sandwich," because I knew that's where we were going! Believe it or not, when Rachel Ray was in Cleveland doing here $40 a day thing, she stopped there. Great memories.
I saw that episode of Rachel Ray. I'm not a fan of hers, but she had good taste that day. Slyman's Deli & Great Lakes Brewery?
