So, The Anderson's has a pretty good deli in Maumee, but is there a better place to purchase quality cheese from in NW Ohio? I would really like to try some artisan type Vermont or Wisconsin cheeses without going the internet route. Where have some of you found good cheese around the area?

I realize this post was from quite while ago.....but, since I've been going back through some of the forums that I haven't read through regularly, thought I'd post this for you:
http://www.cheesehaven.com/
It's not exactly NW Ohio, but it's not too far from it! Not sure if they have what you are/were looking for, but it might be worth checking out!!

Sorry, I missed this in December as well.
Zingerman's in Ann Arbor is THE place to go for cheese. Lots of choices, knowledgeable staff, sample tastes before you buy. Our 13 year old daughter is a cheese fiend, we gave her $20 and let her loose and the counter staff treated her as well as any grown up customer.

Of course this is NW Ohio, I grew up just minutes from here. Might you remember the old Cheese haven store where the Speedway gas station now stands? The old wooden floors that would creak and sag.
I was refering more to an old world/continental style of chese shop where you can get a hunk of cheese cut off a wheel or slice a little sample to try.

I will have to check out their website and see what they have.
Thanks all.

This place looks dangerous for a food junky.

I love going to Cheesehaven. I try to stop there everytime I head up to Marblehead or Port Clinton.
