As a current resident in a city apt in Findlay , I no longer have the use of my precious Weber Kettle charcoal grill. I basically have no way to enjoy the outside whatsoever at my apt. It was one of the detracting factors of the apt , but had no other recourse as it is a decent distance from work and is close to Wally World and various other places I like to shop.

Next year I'm hoping I can find a different residence with outdoor grilling amenities. What would you guys recommend for indoor grilling of some type? The George Foreman grills intrigue me.

I've never used a George Foreman grill as they seem like too much of a toy to me. Nothing you do inside will come close to outdoor grilling but I do like my cast iron grill pan made by Le Crueset. It's pricey but it comes with a 100 year guarantee. You can't beat cast iron for heat retention and good browning of food.

I like to cook with cast iron as well as I've heard negative reports about teflon toxicity. I've seen some iron grill pans at Wal-Mart, but don't know of the quality. Yeah, I know nothing will touch true outdoor grilling with wood charcoal as I've come to love. This summer is going to be excruciating. The only bright side is I have a friend who is about 6 miles away that grills and smokes ribs and brisket a lot outdoors during the summer and was thinking of just taking my grill to their place and using it occasionally there.

George Foremans aren't bad. Far from the real thing mind you, but certainly not bad. I've really only ever cooked boneless chicken or burgers on mine, but it does alright.

Personally I don't like the Foreman at all. It is certainly NOTHING like actual grilling.

I just don't think there really is a way to emulate grilling indoors, especially if you're a charcoal griller.
