Love beating a Big 12 school on a recruit. Great to see.4th Row wrote:Dawson Hildebrand, a 6-3 332-lb OL from Troy, Ohio (my own alma mater).

Re: 2021 recruits
Seems like a true under-the-radar project, too. Huge strength, good size, solid footwork, but only one full year of football under his belt. These are the kinds of guys who can really punch above their weight at MAC schools.Schadenfreude wrote:Love beating a Big 12 school on a recruit. Attended more games than any responsible student should have.

Re: 2021 recruits
Dequan Stanley has de-committed, and he's heading to USF.
He's a Florida kid, so I don't blame him for staying home. He was also the only commit in our 2021 class listed on 247 without a composite score, so the scouting on him wasn't the most comprehensive - I don't really know how to quantify this loss.
I trust Loeffler and company to take his now-vacant scholarship and put it to good use.

Re: 2021 recruits
It didn't take Stanley long to get a grade with the signing by USF. He is now a 3 Star .85149 grade which would be higher than any current BG commit. Go Figure from zero to hero just by picking up the phone.mbenecke wrote:Dequan Stanley has de-committed, and he's heading to USF.

Zach Barlev from Plainfield, IL.
He’s a 6’4, 295 lb, 3-star OG with offers from Illinois, Western Kentucky, and Harvard.

Re: 2021 recruits
Looks like his only other FBS offer was EMU, but I think it raises a pretty significant question going in to the 2021 season.mbenecke wrote:Jamal Johnson, a WR from Frankfort, IL.
Assuming every program survives and we are back to a regular schedule by 2021, will this class have a lot more parity because of the lack of in-person recruiting at senior season video? I have to think that schools like BG will score on people that bigger schools miss out on, but perhaps that means there will be a few more misses, as well.

I think you are right. But, it unfortunately also most likely means that the transfer portal will be flooded after that season.drumstix2388 wrote:Looks like his only other FBS offer was EMU, but I think it raises a pretty significant question going in to the 2021 season.mbenecke wrote:Jamal Johnson, a WR from Frankfort, IL.

Re: 2021 recruits
Barlev has decommitted from BG and then committed to a Big Ten school in his home state, Illinois. Tough to fight off the home state draw, especially in fights against P5 programs.mbenecke wrote:Zach Barlev from Plainfield, IL.

Re: 2021 recruits
Loeffler is counting down the hours on twitter until a commit today, which sounds like it'll be an Ohio kid. I'm looking forward to finding out who that is this afternoon.

Re: 2021 recruits
Diego Neri, a 3-star LB from Cincinnati, OH.
It’s a pretty solid grab, with offers from Central Michigan, Air Force, Akron, Ball State, Eastern Michigan, Liberty, Miami, Navy, Ohio, Toledo, and Western Michigan.
He becomes tied for 3rd best overall rating in our class, and he’s our highest rated LB commit since Brock Horne in the 2019 class.

If you can trigger on his actual announcement. Rather creative, and most since ... cant remember.

DB Willie Jones from Chicago, IL.
He had offers from Toledo, Ball State, Central Michigan, Western Michigan, Kent State, and Miami. Big get.
