2020 Verbals
Re: 2020 Verbals
Absolutely, stix.
We're only 37 days from the early signing period, and we have 23 of the allowed 25 spots filled. There may be some defections, but I'm really hoping Loeffler fights hard to keep this class intact. There is some really good talent here.

Re: 2020 Verbals
Judging by some of the twitter activity by BG coaches, I think some more verbals are about to get announced.

The fact that Loeffler says he would fill more than 25 this year if he could implies to me he feels pretty good about the quality of the class he is putting together.mbenecke wrote:We're only 37 days from the early signing period, and we have 23 of the allowed 25 spots filled. This just in from the Flipper News BG received a verbal from OT Troy Rainey. Another scoop from Flip.Flipper wrote:See page six...I don't give a f**k
Re: 2020 Verbals
This was mentioned in the football thread, but Jeremiah Banks-Wall, an OL clocking in at 6'5" 265lbs (weight according to twitter...I've seen three different weights on sites) committed yesterday. He's rated as a 2 or 3-star from Illinois. Will probably be a redshirt to gain weight, but man, we've got some big boys coming in on the O-Line.

Currently showing 11 Ohio kids out of 25 listed on 247... if this holds it’d have to be largest group in many years.

OK, we wound up with FOURTEEN Ohioans, by far the most “ homegrown “ talent I’ve seen come to BG in many years.

He's a transfer from Syracuse who entered the portal in Mid-August.

Re: 2020 Verbals
Saw the Class of 19 and wondered about it. Fact that he’s a S U transfer I find interesting. A gift from Dino Babers?
Portal kids usually means that either made a selection choice OR aren’t happy with possible P T.](/img/ayziggyzoomba/58/58/54314911ff35ed959956620e68458f73.gif)

Re: 2020 Verbals
He was a walk-on at SU for Coach Babers. I'd assume he's been brought in to push the other 2 young guys (Keller, Melton), but I don't know if he'll ever see the field here. I would assume he has to sit this season, then he'll have 3 years of eligibility left beyond that.Class of 61 wrote:Saw the Class of 19 and wondered about it. If nothing else, he adds depth to the room - I think I'd prefer this to the "Wade/Loy/nothing else" type of depth we had last season. Lol
