Just saw that. Here's an article on him. It looks to me like we grabbed him at the right time. Stats like that don't go unnoticed and it wouldn't be surprising if some bigger schools have him written down as a late-in-the-game recruit. He's a little short at 6'0, but the stats don't lie ...
In two years as a starter Johnson has thrown for 4,940 yards and 59 touchdowns. He’s completed 65 percent of his passes and thrown just 18 interceptions in 437 attempts. His career NCAA quarterback rating is a stunning 196.49.

After watching the hi lite video, we might want to take a SERIOUS look at their WR #7, if he's still around.... looked like a certain WR who played for BG last year!!!

Dude, those were 2QB packages. Freddie Barnes was NOT a WR.

Not sure if this was directed at me or not, but, if you WATCHED the film, you'd have seen that #7 was the guy catching most of this kid's passes...

I know that Freddie isn't the topic of this thread, but I can't resist... College Football Live has been doing what if lately on the show and it makes me think of a what if for BGSU...

What if Anthony Turner doesn't get in trouble before the "home" game against Wisconsin, how long do we wait to find out what kind of a play maker Freddie Barnes is capable of being?

Turner plays the Wisconsin game, doesn't end up looking out of sync the rest of the year and goes on to have a good career as a quarterback as opposed to being the "slash" that he was over the last year and a half of his career.

Freddie stays as a quarterback and doesn't show his receiving ability which doesn't allow him to get looked at by the Chicago Bears.

What if?

Well, I do remember that Coach Brandon used to say that Freddie was too good a player to be standing next to him with a clipboard, so my guess is he would have eventually moved anyway. It is interesting to think, however....

Or, what if Pronty and Wiley and other receivers are not injured. Do we distribute the ball more, leaving Freddie with, say, 80 catches? Is he with the Bears today?

from Scout Recruiting & The Big 33 Game - (on the FB Tab):

Over the season we at Scout.com have plenty of time to see players in person, break down film and get a feel for players, but it’s not until you take them out of their environment and put them on the field with other stars until you really see them excel. This is where we talk about the players who we thought were really at the top of their class at each position.

Top Quarterbacks

North – Matt Johnson, Bishop McDevitt HS – Johnson is committed to Bowling Green :supz: and without any offense intended toward the Falcons, I simply don’t understand how they’re getting a signal caller this good. I watched Johnson play in high school and he was already cool as a cucumber, but from now on his nickname is “Matty Ice” as far as I’m concerned. He threw for three touchdown passes in the game, picked up yards with his feet and has a quiet leadership about him. If I were looking for a college quarterback, this is a kid I’d be high on, regardless of the fact that he’s 6' 4" (Listed at 6' 1")
