Two MORE verbals

In addition to Campenni, BG has obtained verbals from Fahn Cooper (6'6, 300 OL) from Ill., and Jermal Hosley ( 5'8,165 WR) from Mich. Cooper also offered from OU, Hosley from Ball State...

Wondered how long it'd take BG to start getting some verbals at least... C.Mich. and Ball St. along with Temple seem to have the most verbals thus far. Hope this is the start of something good!

Cooper is massive. He could get really big with help from Coach Hillman. Could play multiple positions on O line and plays in a tough league against/with many D 1 players.

Go Falcons!

Having a Biletnikoff finalist at the position last year can't hurt when you're recruiting a wide receiver.

WR/DB Jermal Hosley checks in at #46 in the Blue Chip Top 60 list from The Detroit News.

I could be wrong, but this seems like we haven't done nearly as well in Mich. as in the past few years.....and CMU has a total of TWELVE kids on this list. I recall many years ago, probably when Deromadi was HC, ALL kids on the CMU roster were from Michigan.... unlikely to happen these days unless a state had an unbelievable amount of talent graduating.

I still don't understand WHY some people are so concerned WHERE recruits come from. You recruit kids that are interested, postiions that you need and the quality of kid you are looking for and this changes every year. Maybe those combinations weren't as readily avail;able in Michjigan this year.

I make a point about not recruiting OHIO simply because our "footprint" SHOULD be larger here than in other states... If we've got quality kids we're passing up, that word gets out to others rather quickly. It's not a question of Michigan in particular; only that in the past we've seemed to have done better in bringing in kids from there. And many posters in the past have noted how MANY of the "top 60" Mich. kids we've been able to sign..So my comment re: one verbal from Mich. is based upon that historical fact. Let's face it...Ohio is tough for us to recruit in, because we fight agains the Big 11, Notre Dame, Cincy, Pitt and others in addition to the MAC schools obviously. I just don't like to see Ball State coming in and signing 10-12 kids from Ohio when we get three. It just seems that we should be...and have done so in the the past...a better job of keeping kids "home".... what's OSU's "mantra"? Keep the Ohio kids home! We're not going after the same kids as they are, but still can do better, IMO.

Clawson hit OH and MI really hard last year...he's hitting FL pretty hard this year. As long as he's getting quality student athletes, I don't care if he recruits Taiwan.

Go Falcons!
Sure he could but then he'd be playing for Michigan and wouldn't do the Falcons any good.
