Yet Another Verbal

Post by BGSUfalcons »

According to Rivals, Andre Givens has given BGSU a "solid verbal" commitment.

As far as I can discern, he was a highly recruited prospect out of Hubbard (OH) last year. He committed to Pitt (and had several offers from Big Ten and Big East schools), but ended up at Milford Academy Prep. in NY.

He was listed as a high three-star prospect last year (5.7) and is listed as a three-star prospect this year (5.5).

Assuming all these kids DO sign, we're going to need a new program with pictures....because physically, there are now about 5-6 of them similar in size....within 2" and 15lbs of each other.

If Givens signs, we will have an outstanding RB candidate in place. Highly recruited student-athlete with difference making potential. Somewhat under the public radar during the process. Milford had some tremendous players this past season.

Go Falcons!

Man...we have a number of high end athletes pledged to sign LOI's...is this the best class (at least on signing day) in BG history?
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.

Flip, If you believe in the recruiting sites, and the fact that we've now hopefully got 6-7 three star rated kids coming in, I'd say it has to be ranked pretty high. But I've also been looking at other team's verbals and the MAC has more 3 star kids than I remember in a long time.. Interesting thing is that OSU has EIGHT 3 star kids at last listing I saw.... the team that seemed to take the biggest HIT in the MAC is Ball State; they've lost 2 kids to us and a Cleve. area kid from Padua HS just decomitted and will go to Toledo. Guess coaching changes can work against you big time, especially for kids who might've pledged early and now either don't know the new coaches that well or don't feel comfortable any more.
