Highly recruited WR Mike Rodgers from Ft Wayne Bishop Luers HS announced a commitment to Bowling Green per recruiting web sites. A lot of interest in this former teammate of BG 2012 QB James Knapke. Good sized young man too.

Not to "nit-pick" with you on this...but I only see ONE other offer for him (IOWA)....hope he's firm with us, as some of the recruiting articles indicated a strong interest in B-11/12/13(or whatever it is).... Was Knapke a factor in this?

Rogers had several other offers. He is a good get for us. A solid verbal so we are in good shape. You're right though- as with all of these type of guys, you have to hold them til February.

Here in Ft. Wayne, it's pretty well known that Bishop Luers has the type of program that does not need to re-build, they just re-load. With that being said, don't know for sure who will be taking over @ QB, however with Knapke gone - - Rogers just might not have the same type of numbers he enjoyed as a junior and just might slip off of some folks radars?

In fact, it sounds like they were expecting him in Iowa and there is a mention of some academic issues. We have held onto guys like this before and we may have to...even if he doesn't have a great senior year due to QB issues, there are camps. Anyway, love to see him in orange and brown.
