New OL from Meechigan

Post by Class of 61 »

Rivals and ESPN are showing Clark Clancy, OL from Auburn Hills, Mich., has verballed to BG... Listed on one site as 6'3", 222 , and on the other as 6'4", 240....
Either way, not a real big kid currently, but hopefully has the frame to fill out...unless they're planning on using him as a DE instead. :-k

OK, did a bit of searching thru Avondale's athletics.... He's now listed by them at least as 6'4" and 265....just slightly larger than the recruiting sites listed him...twill be interesting to see how big he REALLY is. [-o<

ESPN inside article has him listed at 6'4 270.

I would think he projects as a tackle. Remember he is more than likely 2 full years away from seeing the field (HS senior and then redshirt). BG coaches have stated in the past they like tall offensive linemen with good frames. 2 years from now and after being in a college weight program will probably have him closer to 300-310.

Akron and Western offered, UC and Syracuse showed interest. Good to win a recruiting battle with other MAC schools.

What I like about him is that he is 15 yards down field trying to hit people and he seems to be pretty athletic for a big guy.

I'd seen the video too....most of the plays shown were running plays with him on the LEFT side...assuming he stays in his "natural" position, he'll need to work on his pass protection footwork. On film he looks every bit of the 6'4"- 260+....

OL: Clark Clancy

School: Auburn Hills Avondale.

Class: Senior.

Size: 6-5, 280.

Highlights: Three-year starter on offense and at defensive end, team captain. Did not allow a sack all season on 129 passing attempts. Main pulling tackle for team that rushed for an average of 7 yards per carry and 33 points per game. Committed to Bowling Green. Coach Steve Deutsch: “Great kid, great character, very humble. Definitely the kind of player you miss when they graduate.”

yes, but most people are too young to remember him, or if they are not a hockey history follower, might think of that s something else. hint: a type of act.
