ESPN recuiting site is reporting that BG has received a verbal from Cody Calloway, 6'2", 180 QB from Midview HS (near Lorain/Elyria).
Bob Dupont should be thrilled as he's a Lorain County kid. =D>

He reportedly had offers from Toledo, Ohio and Western, among others, with some interest from Indiana and Purdue in the Big Ten. He also is a very good baseball player with something like 15 baseball scholarship offers.

Hard to see him playing both sports, however, since most football coaches want their top players participating in spring football, and I would presume especially their quarterbacks.

A friend of mine watched him play several times last year and raved about him. I plan on going to watch him a few times this fall since I don't live too far away from him. Love what I have heard about him.

Had an offer from Rutgers, but he's stil signing here. Nice recap with video here. Looks like he's got the arm to stretch the field.

Between his arm, mobility, and the offense he ran in HS, he reminds me a lot of Maty Mauk at Mizzou (say that 5 times fast). I think we got a good one. I believe he can excel in our new offense.

can a QB play football and baseball? That seems like a lot of springtime overlap....

Seems to me like a Heisman Trophy winner just did that...and he is preseason All American in baseball again for this spring.

Russell Wilson is planning to do it at the pro level and I watched him do it at NC State while I was at Wake. If you're good enough at both and insistent about it being part of your time at school, most coaches will accommodate.

BG's last starting QB that played baseball was Bob Niemet, and was very good at both. Was drafted by San Francisco Giants. Cody had baseball offers from some of the top baseball schools in the US, including Florida State and Tennessee, not to mention the Falcons.

Wasn't Kevin Leady supposed to play both. I also seem to recall Aaron Opelt wanting to come here to try both before Brandon offered other QB's ahead of him....leaving Opelt to sign with that ghetto school.

I'll say this for him SS and QB are premium spots. It's not like he's hiding out there.
