Saw this via his twitter acct.
ONYX SMITH, Qb, Wr from Steele HS in Texas, (Jink's old school?) has verballed to BG. listed ar about 6'1" , 195.

Why did it take hiring a Texas guy to start recruiting in Texas? The talent pool there is unreal.

I doubt many MAC schools are recruiting the Lone Star State. This *could* be a gold mine for us.

BGSU is asserting (correctly I think) that BGSU is off to the best start recruiting of any football program in the MAC.

Devin Ruffin looks like a great get. Smart kid too. I read a 3.83 GPA. His step Dad was a coach.

Minnesota, Nebraska, Iowa, Iowa State, Syracuse, Western Michigan and Toledo were all interested in him. Recruiting in the Midwest against power conference schools and Texas. Wow, we may be on to something.

Interesting as I saw ( I think) either Scout or 247 listing us at around 5th or 6th in MAC behind most of those same schools. This WAS before the kid from Missouri verbal, but doesn't seem likely that ONE kid could make that much difference.
