Bench Players

Post by BGGrad01 »

Stupid question from someone that finally got to his first game today. I noticed two guys in the black warm-up suits at the end of the bench. Who were they? Sullivan and the new transfer from UNCW (Miller)? I think it was Miller that moved to the seats under the north basket during the second half.

Yep... and yep.

Anyone else notice that Kris Wilson has been on the bench for the past 2 games?? In street clothes. I don't believe he's considered a member of the team, but it's great to see him back in BG and back "with" the team.

Slight mix-up. Miller was the one on the bench. Sullivan sits with the old guys under the north basket due to his eligibility status.

Miller is a lot closer to 6'3" than he is 6'4 or 6'5 and Sullivan looks to be every bit of the 6'6" to 6'7" most places list him as.

Nate Miller- one tough, tough kid. Very, very good football player in a tough league- all state good.

Excellent bball player with the ability to defend. Made some big shots for his HS team and was a real team leader. All state mention bball.

To me, this young man will be a fine addition.

Go Falcons!

Speaking of people on the bench, anyone notice Toledo had EIGHT gentleman in suits on the bench? I am not talking about extras or boosters or whatever. The first eight guys sitting on the bench were all wearing suits/jackets & ties. Does Stan have that many assistant coaches and still can't win?

Hey Factman...Sammy Villegas is something isn't he? How in the world did he make pre season 1st team All MAC. He barely gets minutes for the Rockets yet there he is strutting around like he owns the gym.

I always like to head up to Cleveland for at least the first round of the MAC tourney, if not the entire thing. Sammy Villegas is one player that really makes me laugh, because he has basically shot UT out of the tournament each of the last 2 seasons. He's a selfish player, and shoots WAY too much. I can understand why they wouldn't want him on the court a whole lot.

Sammy is the typical Stan Joplin player. They come in with some talent and get some early results and then they regress or fail to progress during the rest of their time under Stan.

I do not understand why Toledo people think they have so much talent on their team. I think Ingram has some talent, but I question the mental and discipline in his game. I really don't think I would really want any other their current team playing on my team, and I am not completely sold on Ingram.

Villegas has had both on the court and off the court things that have affected his minutes at this point in the season. Nothing relating to criminal offenses, grades(as far as I know) or anything like that, but to spill the beans would give up my source and it's not hugely important what happened anyway.
