Did Wright show enough at point for DD to make the switch? When Steven pushes the ball, the offense seems to get better looks. With Floyd or Moon, the offense is in slow motion.

EXACTLY!!!!!!! Steven Wright should be the starting point guard of this team period. He gives the offense a threat at that position because he has the best handles on the team and can drive or shoot. DD needs to really realize that in todays game vs Akron, the five that that brought us back into the game was:
pg: wright
sg: samarco
sf: moten
pf: marshall
c: lefeld
Thats the five that brought us back from 19 down and i think thats the five that should have finished the game!! I completey agree with starting wright at Pg, floyd and moon should be coming off the bench for spot time to rest wright.
Well now its time to go fight miami at there place, which will be very tough.

I am firmly convinced that at least Moten and Samarco and possibly Wright have a set number of shots that they are going to take in a game regardless of whether they're open or not. Some of the three's that particularly Moten and Samarco shot today were completely out of the flow of the offense and very forced. Moten was bailed out by a horrible foul from Dru Joyce and Samarco got very lucky banking one in.
I realize he was on the court at the time, but I'm not seeing the "ACC" in Moten's game that Virginia did. He struggles to create "good" looks for himself offensively and was consistently beaten off the dribble on defense. What I do see in him is someone who is a fantastic athlete and a catch and shoot guy, but I'm not seeing a multi-faceted guy who can break you down in a number of ways.
Wright may be the short term solution at point, but a year ago, you were all looking for the quickest upgrade b/c Wright proved to be too much of a scorer than a true point. Wright is much more effective when he's not handling the ball and making decisions and he can create by moving in space. However, he is the only guy we have that can break you down defensively off the bounce.
Our lack of recruiting for need (true point, low post) is starting to show and will continue to be exploited throughout the season.

Wright has been tried at PG...that was with a different cast of supporting players surrounding him, so he may be able to handle the role more effectively now. I'm not sure that would be the best thing though.
He has looked so much more comfortable working of the ball that I'd hate to tinker with him.

One thing I will say that I do like about Wright more this year is, with him coming off the bench to start games, he seems to be able to stay on the floor more in terms of minutes this year rather than picking up two quick fouls out of the gate like he seemed to do so much last year. He seems to be playing with more control coming off the bench defensively to me. There's no doubt that when we have five on the floor I want Wright to be one of them, but it almost seems to me that he's been a more productive and heady player in this new role.
