BG’s now behind the eight ball (spot)

Post by BGSU33 »

With our loss to Toledo, the Rockets jumped ahead of us in the overall MAC standings and we’re now ninth out of 12 teams in the MAC standings. On top of that, we still have to play at Akron, at Buffalo and at Ohio as well as hosting Kent State and Miami. It’s going to be very hard to climb out of the bottom four spots to avoid a first round road game. All those close loses are nipping us in the back right about now.

A 1st-round game on the road looks easier than those other 5 games.

The division winners and next 2 best teams get byes. Teams 5-8 host teams 9-12.

We could easily end up at Toledo again.

Yes we could. If the tournament started today (before the Sunday games are played) we would be at Toledo. I'm still holding out hope we can somehow get a home game though I'm not holding my breath it's going to happen. But just like last night showed, despite some of our home losses this season, we did beat UT at home and lost to them on the road.
