Jeremy Fears has re-entered the recruiting process for a third time.

Jeremy Fears is drawing interest from Wake Forest and Virginia Tech.
The former Ohio point guard who committed to transferring to Iowa State told Rivals.com he will not be going to ISU.

The Cyclones underwent a coaching switch after Fears committed. Wayne Morgan was fired at the end of the season and was replaced by former Northern Iowa coach Greg McDermott on March 21.

"I talked with the coaches at Iowa State and we came to the understanding that I am going to explore my options and look at other schools that are interested in me," Fears said. "I was real disappointed to hear about Coach Morgan. Everything was set in place and then, without warning, it all changed. I'm just now making it known that I am available again."

The 6-4, 195-pound Fears, who has two years of eligibility remaining, has been in contact with coaches at Virginia Tech and Wake Forest.

"Those are the only two schools that I've been talking with so far," Fears said. "Virginia Tech was the first to show interest. I got a message from their coach Seth Greenberg saying he wanted me to call him and we have spoke.

"The coaches at Wake Forest are real serious. They asked for tape on me and I've been talking with their coaches every couple of days. One of their biggest concerns is making sure I have enough credits to transfer."

Fears led Ohio to a 21-11 record and an invite to the NCAA Tournament as a freshman, averaging 11 points and 3.7 assists. He was averaging 9.6 points and 4.2 assists this past season before he decided to transfer in early February.

Fears considered Purdue and Baylor before committing to ISU.

"The most important thing to me is the style of play and my relationship with the coaches," he said. "I know I'm going to get a pretty good education and play against top-notch competition no matter where I play.

"I really want to be somewhere with an uptempo style with good chemistry - where the coaches understand that I only have two years left."

Closets are for hangers, winners use the door."
