Media Day

Wow, says something about the state of our program that this hasn't been posted yet.

We're picked last in the East. We received the fewest points in the vote of any team.

Good! We can sneak up on teams.

Personally, I see us in the middle of the pack in the East.

I don't like pre-season predictions, especially how each team is going to do in conference. All of that is voted based on how teams did last year, and how others perceive how they recruited, along with what they have coming back. I see it in my conference every year, those that finished at the bottom last year are voted towards the bottom the next. I guarantee that my team will be voted towards the bottom this year, based on how our bad season last year. But I can guarantee that everyone will be surprised when conference play comes around. From what others on here are saying, I hope the same is true with our beloved Falcons. I just want a solid season where we get a home game in the first round, and see where the chips fall after that.

So you think you'll be beating CMU at home in the first tournament game?

We really should not have expected anything different after what happened last year. Hopefully this team will go out and surprised some people this year and make a run in the MAC Tourney. Only a few more weeks till the season begins and I am geetting anxious.

Guess that is very possible since the expectation (from the media) is that we will be the worst team in the league. Anything better than that would be a surprise, right?

Ok, so I didn't realize that they had changed the format. I guess dealing with all the stuff in my conference, I have lost a little touch with the MAC. But I guess my point is, I just hope that we can be towards the top of the conference, and I'm not asking for first, and be competitive for all conference games.

Did you see the quote from our coach? He referred to playing for him is like dog years:

"If you've been here for one year with me, it's like seven."

It'd be funny if it wasn't so true. :(

Here's the link with the video clip. It's only about five or sx minutes long and is kind of a boring interview until the end when he gets asked again about his comment about dog years. When DD first mentioned the dog years I didn't know what to make of it because I also wasn't sure what he meant, but he gets asked about it at the end and he cleared it up and it was pretty funny how he explained it. FYI, he wasn't talking about the town or the school, he was talking about playing for him.
