Mm....
Very interesting. I always knew DD had an insaciable love for Knight but I think its borderline hero worship to me. I think part of DD's problem is that he worships Knight and his coaching style too much. I dont' know why DD can't be his own man and figure out new ways of coaching but still using the best parts of Knights style.
There is a reason why Knight is doing somewhat mediocre at Texas Tech now. Coach K at Duke has done it perfectly after being with Knight as well. He's taken Knights best attributes and molded them with his own phylosophy. DD unfortunatly is still stuck in the 80's.

Stuck in the 80's. Hmmm. Exactly what do you mean by that?falconboy wrote:DD unfortunatly is still stuck in the 80's.

His insistence to play Kajagoogoo albums in the lockerroom is incredibly outdated.BleedOrange wrote:Stuck in the 80's. Hmmm. Exactly what do you mean by that?falconboy wrote:DD unfortunatly is still stuck in the 80's.

I think FB is talking about the quote from Wright.BleedOrange wrote:Stuck in the 80's. Hmmm. Exactly what do you mean by that?falconboy wrote:DD unfortunatly is still stuck in the 80's.

Nah, FB didn't quote Wright. He said it himself. There were no quotes. There were no citations. He's a big boy. He know what he said. 80's? 80's how? Is the motion offense 80's to you? Does the man-to-man defense amuse you? WHAT is so 80's about DD's coaching?Tricky_Falcon wrote:I think FB is talking about the quote from Wright.BleedOrange wrote:Stuck in the 80's. Hmmm. I'd like to know what coach K has done to meld Knight's attributes with his own. I'd then like to see a comparison highlighting the areas where Dakich has dogmatically adhered to Knight's style of coaching. In other words...I'd like to see the conclusions drawn supported with some evidence.

How about all of the pictures of Limahl hanging in his office?Flipper wrote:I'd like to know what coach K has done to meld Knight's attributes with his own. Furthermore, how about a comparative overview of the various styles of O and D played in the 80's, 90's, and 2000's; reasoning behind why DD's style is specifically 80's; and at least a LITTLE basic reasoning why DD's approach is generally maladaptive given the evolution of the game? That might be a little better than mindlessly piling on to Wright's dumbass comment in his blog.Flipper wrote:I'd like to know what coach K has done to meld Knight's attributes with his own.
