The Five on the Floor

At one point today we went on what seemed like a 26 to nothing streak. The five on the floor at that time were: Samarco, Polk, Miller, Moten, and Guerin. As soon as that group was subbed out things slowed way down for us. I could not for the life of me figure out why that same group was never put back out on the court together.

Great job by Samarco today btw. That shot he closed with was sick. From the floor it actually looked like he was behind the backboard when he got it off. Sheer insanity. Games like today make me wish there were 5000 there instead of 1000. Time to go recruit some fresh bodies for the animals I think.

I don't know man, you like to hope and think that DD will see that on tape and use whatever lineups are doing us great favors alot more. It was nice to see us pull that one of out butts thanks to Samarco, with no Hamblet at pg yesterday.

Look, during the middle of a game, especially a close one, substitution patterns sometime get thrown out the window for the situations. Not only that, but you try having a lot of different situations and thoughts going through your head when the game is tight, and you have to focus on every possession. Not only that, but you have to think, who is the better foul shooters, who can help me get a defensive stop, and so forth. When all those things are going through your head, you start to think about practices, what has happened in the other close games that have been played, and how each kid reacted. I have had situations where a kid has played well in the middle part of a quarter, and helped get us back in the game, but the situation and confidence of the kid in the stretch didn't warrant me putting her back in at the time. Just another coaches observation though.
