We had match up problems with Travis. He's 6-6 and plays at 6-8, and Nate Miller was isolated against him down low on a number of occasions.

Overall, we looked good at Akron. The major, basic difference between the two teams is offense chemistry. Akron has a lot of it and we have little. This stems from us having no true point guard.

Btw: Brian Moten played effective on-the-ball defense down the stretch of the second half against Dru Joyce. Furthermore, he had some athletic makes in the interior that looked really good. Once his confidence level is where it should be, he might explode.

I believe Moten has the ability to least be an effective sixth man for our team.

When AU played at UT the Akron fans were whining that Travis got called for a couple offensive fouls. IMO he could have fouled out in the first quarter-he dips the shoulder and pushes off with the forearm on nearly every possession.
h2oville rocket,

Dead on, man. He was doing that all night last night.

How could the loss be heartbreaking? I can't imagine that there are many hearts still following this team left to be broken.
Every loss for BG is heartbreaking. I love BG sports and root for them every damn game, but since I have a positive attitude toward our teams, I don't post anything because I'll get pounded into the ground. Yeah, our Men's teams are struggling, but I'm tired of the We Suck!!!......Fire the Coach!!...blah blah blah bull crap.....itiots!! Go root for the damn Buckeyes.

Crazyfan,

I hope you are embarrassed that BG is a part of the MAC and not embarrassed that you are a part of BG.

There's a lot of people like you out there, Dayton... count me as one of them. I just sit back and keep my mouth shut anymore for the most part.

I've been to every home game this season and, while I no longer have that expectation that we'll come away with a win every time out, I still root for the team and hope for the best and still love watching them play!!

I still go to the games, and I still root for us to win as well, but it's gotten to the point where I expect us to lose every game. If we just keep the games close I'm happy. The wins we do pull out don't feel much better than the losses because it just seems that we played a team who happened to be crappier than us. I miss seeing crisp, disciplined play by a team that can compete athletically with the best in the conference.

I'm just as tired as the we suck, get a new coach stuff as anyone. However, it is painfully obvious, at this point, that changes must be made to improve because just keeping things the status quo isn't working. I don't like the sentiment of telling anyone who wants changes to go root for the Buckeyes. Seems to me like you're flat out saying, "Go root for a team that's willing to do what it takes to win; here at BG we're just happy how things are."

I want more for BG athletics than that. I want our football team to be the mid major that all the BCS boys are afraid of. I want our basketball team to be the cinderella story of the NCAA tournament. Unfortunately, changes must be made because the way we're doing things right now is not getting us closer to those goals.

I second that, Grant. You will have good years and bad years. You stick with the teams NO MATTER WHAT> I thought BG was gonna get ripped at the JAR the other night but I took the Freaklings anyway. SUPPORT...no matter what. And I was very pleased with the effort. If it wasn't for a couple stupid mistakes inbounding the ball right to the Zips, BG would have won. It was an exciting game and tense. The UA folks were crapping in their pants thinking they could lose.
