Of course, that assumes you haven't recruited some kind of whack job lthat lacks an "off" switch. Contrary to popula ropinion, people don't always fight to maim or injure each other. Unless you are literally fighting for your life, most people will hold off on trying to go nuclear on the other guy...it's not a consious decision to hold off...it's just something that happens.

Unless you're a whack job with no "off" switch.

If you keep getting between them...they'll just get madder and inevitably, other peole will get involved.

I understand this school of thought and I think it is foolish. Manhood includes emotional selfcontrol and the ability to direct anger towards constructive action. All angry outbursts do is reinforce the tendency to react angrily. Beyond that, a guy could get punched in the eye, temple, or adam's apple.

On the other hand, if a guy KNOWs he'll be in a fight, I think that he should bust the other fncker so hard with the first punch that he doesn't get up. If he can't do that, he should stay out of fights and work the heavy bag until he can.

That's just my .02$

OptionQB wrote:Bobby isn't all that innocent in these situations either. One instance in particular involved Michael Lewis and Luke Recker. Lewis showed up to campus with his hometown girlfriend and all was good in the world. That is until she met Recker. Recker then reminded Lewis during a scrimmage that his girlfriend put up more of a fight when trying to score with her than Lewis did and Lewis dropped the ball and decked Recker. The two went at it in practice and Bobby let them go. After practice, he had a meeting with the two of them and asked which one would be leaving. It turns out, Recker ended up at Iowa and the said girlfriend happened to be the one who was injured badly in the Colorado car wreck with him.

These things happen more times than you would want to know.
Michael Lewis was a badass. I remember being at an Iowa vs. IU game with my brother when I was a freshman in high school. (My brother was an IU student at the time) Lewis threw an inbound pass right into the face of the Iowa player guarding him on the out of bounds play.

The Iowa player had been giving cheap shots to the IU players all game. On the in bounds play, the student section was yelling to throw the ball in the Iowa players face. Sure enough, Lewis takes the ball and throws it as hard as he can right into his face, breaking the guys nose. No one could believe that he actually did this. After about 20 seconds of shock, the student section exploded.

Either give Coach D a multi year deal or let him go. Give the man the respect he deserves about his employment status.
Totally agreed. Reminds of some poker books that I read. Either raise or fold. Never call. It's a passive/weak play. In Dakich's case, it's probably time for a fold.
I suppose they could announce a three year deal -- and not announce that the deal is not guaranteed year to year.

D.D., is that you?????????? Or, maybe, Bill Wammas!!!!!!!!! Just wondering.

:?: :?: :?: :?:
Are you gonna use that joke on every Dakich thread?
Only until somebody responded to it - and what makes you think it was a joke???? I, for one of many, hope he's gone. Enough is enough. There is no other coach that the staff that COULD ride on the bus free - buys their own gas just so they don't have to listen to his fits ( whether we win or lose).
I am guessing you made an error here in typing.

Were yout rying to say that there is a coach on the team who drives his own car to games in order not to hear Dakiches rants? Is this true? If so why was that coach not dismissed in season?

Not a Coach - those poor guys are stuck. That's why Artie was so happy to get another job. The managers, support staff bought their own gas to travel. I heard there wasn't an ipod loud enough to drowned him out win ( a real rarity) or lose.

You know...noise cancelling headphones are...$40 for a low end pair. That would be cheaper than buying gas.

Yep...i have a feeling we'll be hearing these wonderful little nuggets from the anti-danites for years to come. He'll just keep coming up here like a breakfast burrito belch.

Let's put it this way: if Dakich had received an extension then you probably would have heard about it by now. News like that is for the most part positive. Negative news shouldn't mix with positive news because it confuses the hell out of people.

Dude, you don't even have a clue. Have some respect and don't talk about stuff you don't know a damn thing about. Unless you actually WERE a manager or somehow affiliated with the team, you don't know. Everything you know is hear-say, which is pretty unreliable.
