How many scholarships do we have available? Was Bland on a scholarship?

The roster shows 10 players, plus it doesn't show Chris Knight. So, does that mean we have 1 left?

Alex Kellogg is the son of CBS's Clark Kellogg, who had great things to say about Coach Orr in the press release.

We have 13 scholarships to offer each year, I beleive we go over this alot and i am pretty sure 13 is the number.

1. Nate Miller
2. Eric Marschall
3. Ryne Hamblet
4. Otis Polk
5. Marc Larson
6. Daryl Clements
7. Ryan Sims
8. Brian Moten
9. Dusan Radijovec (rumored to be leaving?)
10. Brian Guerin (walk on?)
11. Chris Knight (Not a sure thing)
12.
13.

So I think we have atleast 2 schollies and as many as 5.

Kellog goes to DeSales here in Columbus. I hear he's a decent player. I think his team went to the state semifinals. His younger brother who is also on the DeSales basketball team is supposedly better.

I thought Demarcus Grady was University of Michigan bound...did he get a release after Ammaker was fired?

that's Kelvin Grady going to Michigan...Demarcus signed an LOI to play football at NIU...I don't think he can play ball here...even if he could, that'd be a hell of a commute between schools.

Flipper,

It's his cousin Kelvin Grady that is headed for U of M.

Also, from the original list the Green kid from Saginaw is a Junior. Verbaled to KY for 2008 but has withdrawn that with Tubby moving on. Likely Mr. Basketball in Michigan next year so I think he will not be considering BG.

We are listed amongst his suitors, and I neglected to say he was a junior. For being a potential Mr Basketball in Michigan he is not listed very high in the rankings for Michignan players.

I have it from a highly reliable source that we have at least 2 schollies--the Samarco and Lefeld scholarships.

Bland was on scholarship as was Sullivan. Figure Knight takes one, and Guerin could get the second one. If he doesn't, a third is open.

You can always dream but I would ask when is the last time BG got a recruit who had verbaled to Kentucky or any Top Ten program in his junior year? Also, I saw Green play in the State semi-finals and he's a big powerful player that can also bring the ball up the court against guards and shoot the three.

i saw alex kellogg play at the state semifinals and a few other games. while he is very athletic and can run, his shot is horrible. can hardly hit anything outside of 10 feet. maybe it was just the games i saw, who knows. i'd still like to see him at BG though because his shot can and probably will improve over the next few years. he has great athleticism and could help the team out. would be nice to see.

And if he's got a brother coming along later that's supposed to be better than him, might it be worth the effort working with his shot to get Alex on now and hope little brother follows? Or would we be reaching to nab either one from "the big boys"?
