2006-2007 Season Better on Whatifsports

Have you ever been on Whatifsports.com? You can match up teams in various sports, not NCAA football though. But Basketball is there and for last season almost every team is in the system. So, I played the entire season and although I looked at each Box Score, I didn't keep track of anything but the final score.

The Final BG 17-13 and 8-8 in the MAC. The Season started with the typical soft schedlule but we beat Ark State on the Road by three and dumped Furman by 7 at home. Took two losses in a row to S. Alabama and Troy before winning two agains C. Ark and Ark State rematch. Then a six point loss to Wright and a loss to Marshall. Two wins in the Christmas tourney but a loss to Green Bay in the Final.

Opened MAC season with a 60-58 squeaker over Buffalo before being blown away by OU 89-55 and Akron 71-43. Miami made it three losses in a row and the season looked bleaked, but an upset at Kent by 72-71 brought the team back. However Western came into AA and won going away at 65-54 and the trip to Mt. Pleasant was unpleasant at 68-50. Ball State was just want the doctor ordered with a 58-44 win. The Rockets fell in an upset 68-64 and the Falcons made it three in a row with a ten point win at NIU. EMU game into AA and lost (as they should have in real life) 63-52 for the 4th straight win. The Falcons went into Buffalo and this time no last second technical as the Falcons won going away 68-54. Morehead fell in the Bracket Buster for win number 6 in a row. Finally, the Falcons gained revenge on OU with a 74-72 thriller. But just when the Falcons looked poised to make a run at the division they lost the last three MAC games to contenders including a 35 point thumping at Akron.

Well, it was interesting. The computer used Nate Miller for the entire season. Bland and Dusan hardly played at all. Maybe that's the way it should have been. The scanning of the box scores probably didn't produce the number of fouls that the Falcons usually had. Miller or Samarco were the leading scorers 90% of the time with Hamblet leading once and Marschall getting in there once or twice.
