We do the same thing in two weeks and stay at the Conrad on Michigan Ave on the Magnificent Mile. Chicago is a GREAT city to visit. :D
I've always wanted to be in Chi-town on the biggest shopping weekend. Not to shop, so much, as to just experience it!!!

I'm taking the Amtrak there ($27!!! You can't drive there that cheap!!). So I thought I'd splurge a little bit on the accomodations.

Any recommendations on dining? I'm going to Frontera Grill (always wanted to) but don't know where I'll dine the other night....

Yessir. Damn right. I don't care if it is a 4 hour round trip with wild gas prices and turnpike tolls. I'm a hopeless lifer, and this is the first exciting game of the first exciting season since DD came back from Morgantown. I'll be there in section E with one of my sisters.

I'll be there, hopefully still smiling from Friday afternoon, too. :-D

I have heard the Chicago Chop House is good.

later in the evening, The Kingsotn Mines is a very good Blues Bar. It is in downtown, but off the beaten path.

Lot of great places to eat in Chicago...

Great Lux Cafe
600 N Michigan Ave
Great lunch or dinner spot. Ate next to Detroit Pistons there in May of this year.

If you want great Chicago-style pizza...go to any Giordano's. Great pie.

As bad as that was, it was better than watching those little kids take an hour to eat a single solitary slice of pizza...good lord did they feed them a 10 course meal right before the contest?

The contests that they run during timeouts/halftime get stupider & stupider every year...
I don't see what was so bad?! I won!!!
