Why stand in the front row in the House that Roars if you are just going to be a casual observer and not have some influence while being 3 feet from the court? That type of fan support will never get me to move if I'm already sitting in the front row.
Once the "animals" come to power, the SS will back down. When they see how much more dedication and class we have than them, I think they will start to get there in time to get their seats, and actually cheer.

only one more week in cinci Metz, then its Bball season for Shu! Any ETA on the shirts?

It is disheartening that you have the student section making half the noise that the visiting fans make. There definately needs to be more from some (maybe a few exceptions) of the Sideline Squad. The black t-shirts were done and partially donated by a local printer (guess who?).
I do come to approximately 90% of the home games, so I do understand what it takes to get the crowd involved. If the original SS guys could see the way things are today, I don't think this is what they had in mind as THE SIDELINE SQUAD.
My passion for Falcon athletics will not dwindle because of a few. I say GO FALCONS!!! and kick some butt and take no prisoners.

McMEtz,
I don't think too many folks would try to move you my friend. And I've noticed a trend in the last year or so that the SS isn't what it should be.

There's a concerted effort underway to make it what it once was though. And, truly, would you all EXPECT them to be up for a 30 point game against Bluffton?? Get the MAC teams in here and I think you'll see a rowdy SidelineSquad!!

We were formally introduced ath the UM football game serveral years and he told me his name was Rattlesnake Bob. I shall do no injustice to the man until he says it is ok for me to call him Snakeman. :P

It's tough to get up for a game against, Bluffton. I think we had our fair share of fun, but none of us were truly excited about the game. My point is that if they want the front row seats they should be there in time to get those seats. They should not be able to show up at 6:40 and have the event staff guys evict those that were there early so the guys with the fancy t-shirts can take those seats.

And this sideline squad will continue to act like this as long as they are DD's pets. I saw students who had been there since the doors open told to move by event staff so this group could come in at 6:30 and then have to be told over and over again by the police to keep away from the court. And the 4 that were running the sling shots need to go. They are not cheerleaders, not are they members of the dance team. They have no business on the floor during the game. And I know some students were also upset after the game. How much longer will we cater to some students before we start to affect student attendance. We have a long way to go.
The sideline squad is not DD's pets. I talked with him last year about how the group is set up and whatnot, he had no clue and still has no clue, he just knows that they show up. The marketing dept has tried to "organize" the SS this year and tried to last year through my friends and I, which is probably why they got to remove others from their seats. I think it's crap, but hey, let's not start on the MKT dept.

front row seats are a reward for these guys that go to EVERY SINGLE game that doesn't fall during a break....although I do agree that they should rope it off so people know...............and also, the old SS was much louder, i agree

Some of us have been to EVERY SINGLE game including breaks, blizzards, ice storms, power outages, wars, etc. for YEARS though.... ;-) (God, I'm starting to sound like an old man...) This is season 27 for me... You can count the number of home games I've missed in the past 16 on one hand (from my freshman year on...) How am I rewarded??

Please realize this is tongue-in-cheek... the facts are correct, but I don't really expect an answer. I don't go to games for a reward. If I did, I'd have stopped years ago. Hammb believes I should be more explanatory when I'm being a smartass so as not to drive away new posters. This post is me being a smartass. It's the politics of contraband, it's the smugglers' blues.

Haha I like the disclaimer.

But I think the answer to what your reward (and all of our rewards) should be lies in your avatar. . . .
