As of 2/16, BG would be the #6 seed as of right now. It just goes to show how important every game really is for seeding, for example, if BG would have beaten EMU the other day, we’d be sitting in a first-round bye position and would be tied with the second-best record in the MAC with Miami. Obviously, moving back into the inner-division play now, teams with a loss head-to-head can even things out facing those teams again. But as we’ve seen with the MAC East this year, there will be no such thing as an easy game for BG the rest of the way.
Bye: Buffalo, 9-2 (#1 seed)
Bye: Miami, 8-3 (second best MAC record)
Bye: Akron, 7-4 (tied with BG & KSU but is 2-0 head-to-head vs. those teams)
Bye: Ball State, 6-5 (top team in West)
#5: Kent State, 7-4 (tied with BG & UA, lost to AU, beat BG)
#6: Bowling Green, 7-4 (tied with UA & KSU, but lost both games head-to-head)
#7: Ohio, 6-5
#8: Western Michigan, 5-6
#9: Central Michigan, 4-7
#10: Northern Illinois, 3-8
#11: Toledo, 2-9 (tied with EMU, won head-to-head)
#12: Eastern Michigan, 2-9 (tied with UT, lost head-to-head)
