So who do you think it's going to be, WMU or OU?

I'd rather play WMU, but I think it's going to be OU. That might sound crazy being that BG just beat OU by 34 points two days ago, but you won't be seeing Tillman or Allen sitting on the bench again if we see them at The Q. WMU has certainly had our number in recent years but we ended that streak this season. We'll find out tonight.
GO BG!!!
Both teams are tough, but I'd rather play WMU. We just embarrassed the crap out of OU; they and their coach were visibly frustrated at how badly they got whipped. You can bet your ass they'd be ready to play us again. Obviously, I think we're a better team than OU, but I wouldn't want to play a team out to get revenge in our first game.

Judging by its last six games --- five losses --- Ohio may have phoned it in. When every other team in your division is fighting for a league championship and you're not, that's gotta be mentally draining. I don't feel strongly one way or another, but I think I'd rather see BG play OU again. It's inconceivable to think a team that lost by 34 could retaliate just days later with a win over that same opponent. Then again, it's been a strange MAC season.
What makes me optimistic about BG's chances is its road record throughout the MAC season. This was not a team that relied on a home court advantage to win the championship. I think that really matters.

That revenge thing is SO overated. While there are probably some OU players that think they can get revenge, there is also going to be some that think BG's has their number and there is no way they can beat us. It's all mental and we have a HUGE advantage over them.hammb wrote:Both teams are tough, but I'd rather play WMU. Well, it's going to be BG vs. Ohio as OU just beat WMU tonight. Call me crazy, but this game has me very concerned. Yeah, I know we swept Ohio in the regular season and just won by 34 points just days ago, but this is the MAC Tournament - and not good things always happen to the Falcons in this event. BG has never won the MAC Tournament and in fact, it's been several years since we've even won a single game in Cleveland in the MAC Tournament. I know one thing for sure, we won't be seeing a game as one-sided as we did the other day. Tillman and Allen won't be sitting on the bench and we're going to be in for a battle. GO BG!!!

This is not the same Falcon team that has built this concern in your mind... this is a new era. Put your pre-conceptions to rest. It's why I took a month off from this site. Everyone was/is living in the past. This isn't the past, this is NOW! Enjoy our success, don't wallow around in the disappointments of the past.BGSU33 wrote:... but this is the MAC Tournament - and not good things always happen to the Falcons in this event. We slaughtered OU 2 days ago, we'll slaughter OU again.

The past few weeks of BG hoops, football at Toledo, hockey shutting out MSU... all perfect reasons to enjoy each game as it comes and pull for the best out of our athletes.
Hell, we could be 0-16 headed into this thing and I'd still think "Well, what if?" The top seed thing just makes it more fun.
