4 MAC teams in the postseason, one in all 4 tournaments

They both lost, and the entire conference failed to win even an single game among the lower echelon tournaments.

This simply is not a good time for mid-majors, and among those, the MAC. The grade of basketball being played is weak compared to major conferences. Things will come full circle, they normally do, and at some point you will have one of those periods of success we focus on. But that time is not now.

Why do/did all the MAC men teams lose in the first round in all the tournamnts when the MAC Women teams win? It is coaching, schedules, location, or what? Oakland beat Kent (80-74), BG gets beat, Buffalo loses to Wichita State (84-73), and Arkon gets beat by Gonzaga (83-81), Women Ball state beats Tennessee (71-55) and BG beats Syracuse. Didn't see any Women post season tournaments.

Credit where it is due, you can not deny the upgrade in coaching that is underway among MAC women's staffs. Thank BGSU's success for that. There has often been very good women's basketball in the MAC, but right now we are seeing it taken up a notch. And BSU beating Tenn. only reenforces that yes, there is an increasingly solid cohort of teams on the top of the league.

I think we are starting to cycle into a upswing for the men's game, but frankly it has squandered much of the renown it had some years ago. Football was on a low-note, men's basketball was to some, the best sport in the MAC. The MAC had a legit reason to complain about not having two bids. Now, and for some years, no, the men's game blows. Having a league tourney only makes us look worse when the best teams drop late contests, sap energy, and could care less about second and third level make-up games.

Coach Orr is doing a phenomenal job in turning us around. Who would've thought just 2 years ago that we would be MAC regular season champions and taking a high quality mid major that should have been in the tournament down to the wire in the NIT. The future of Falcon basketball at least is looking very bright
