Falcons Sign Two During Early Signing Period
Bowling Green, Ohio – Bowling Green State University men’s basketball coach Louis Orr has announced that two players have signed National Letters of Intent during the early signing period to play basketball for the Falcons beginning in 2010-11. Brookhaven High School’s Craig Sealey and Kent Roosevelt High School’s Cameron Black will play collegiately at Bowling Green.
“We are extremely pleased and excited to announce these two new additions to our Falcon family,” Orr said. “We are not only adding two very talented and hard-working basketball players, but two high-character individuals from outstanding families.”
Sealey is a 6-foot-6, 200-pound wing forward from Brookhaven High School in Columbus, Ohio. As a junior, he received honors as a Central Ohio Dispatch Team honorable mention player and an honorable mention Central Ohio All-District Team player.
“Craig is an explosive wing who is excellent at running the floor and finishing at the rim,” Orr said. “He is the ultimate slasher and offensive rebounder and has as big an upside as anyone in our program. He is an improved shooter and brings a ton of energy and athleticism to our team. His impact on our team should be immediate and he is a high quality individual and student-athlete. Craig comes from an excellent program and an outstanding coach in Hali Robinson. We appreciate their coaching staff’s input and cooperation.”
Black is a 6-foot-10, 230-pound forward/center from Kent Roosevelt High School in Kent, Ohio. He averaged 10 points, 10 rebounds, and 4.7 blocks per game as a junior, being named second-team all-league and second-team all-district. He was a team captain as a junior and blocked 106 shots, being named team Defensive Player of the Year.
“Cameron gives us a very skilled and smart post player with legitimate size to replace seniors Otis Polk, Marc Larson, and Erik Marschall,” Orr said. “He has excellent skills with the ball, is a presence on the defensive end, and has a high IQ for the game as he plays for an outstanding head coach in his dad Cameron Black Sr. We appreciate Coach Black’s input and cooperation. Cameron is an extremely hard worker, a conscientious student, and a team player. He should make an immediate impact on our program.”
Bowling Green is coming off of a Mid-American Conference regular season championship in 2008-09 and a trip to the National Invitation Tournament. The team went 19-14 overall and 11-5 in MAC play, advancing to the semifinals of the MAC Tournament. Coach Orr and his staff will look to replace four seniors with this recruiting class in Polk, Larson, Marschall and Matt Karaffa.
