Since you mentioned the cheerleaders, I have question. Why are the cheerleaders not expected to be there for games during the break? The players are on break as well, but we keep playing games and expecting them to be there. By joining the cheer squad, it seems to me that you are making a commitment to support the team during ALL the games, not just the ones that don't happen to be during break. Just my opinion, but I think the cheerleaders should be there for every game. Especially now that we are playing league games, they need to be there.

My guess is because they're volunteers and are not on scholarship.

Do the cheerleaders or athletes have basketball and hockey games listed on their class schedules? We have athletic band written on ours and only for the 2nd semester so be fortunate we are at some of the games before break.

Guarding quick guards.....

Post by Falconboy »

Its called recruiting some more quick defensive guards. This is where we really miss Chis Hobson. And by the way does anyone know the reasons for him leaving? I know why Lewis left , but I'm still quite schetchy as to why Hobson left. We probably should go after another quick good sized pg or 2 guard, cuz Perrick Robinson has hard times driving to the basket and gettin his layups blocked almost routinley. Another reason to go after another quick scoring 2 guard is because plainly Austin Montgomery is total disappointment as far as I'm concerned. He's shown nearly nothing as to why we went after him. A supposed scoring 2 guard or small forward who could get his own shots really well. Well franky he has none of the quickness and strength need for that. Hard to imagin this is the same dude that averaged around 25 ppg. during his senior season in HS. I see us putting a guy like Lionel Sullivan as a backup 2 for Wright as well as playing a his more natural 3 position. What is up with Lefeld?? :? Seriously, does anybody know? Why is he so uncordinated out there? Vandameer seems to do a better job , but he hardly played during Buffalo either. Whats going on with our eventual starters next near at center? Lefeld better find a way to get his act together ,because there will be no Almonson around to bail him out of fouling all the time.

But my point is they volunteered to make hte commitment to be a cheerleader. I understand the volunteer part, but I don't think they get the commitment part. :?

so..... he asked you 3 times, are you going to answer him? What do you mean by goofing? If you mean we were having a good time then hell yes we were. if you meant we were laughing, well yeah, we were. If you meant we were setting whoopie cushions under each other and shaking ppl's hands with a hand buzzer, then you are grossly mistaken. If it looked like we were just laughing and not doing whatever it is you think our job was, then it was probably because of how sickened we were with the fans. Excluding the animals, there was liek 4 people that stood up with more than 1 minute left in the game. C'mon people, that was a close game for 40 minutes, how was everyone so quite and enotionless for 39 minutes? the buffalo fans were louder than the entire bench side of AA, and there were 3 of them.

I have to disagree Shu. That place was pretty loud for only having 1700 people there. I don't think too many people were standing in the final minute either because it was all foul shots. Not to go against you but it was pretty loud in there for how AA typically is.

I thought AA was pretty rockin' for a game during break. :?

I have to respectfully disagree with you on the four people standing...of course I only stood because some guy in front of me kept standing in my way! :D

Allow me to be more specific. It was lound, especially for 1700(which looked liek more than that to me), but when I looked up in the crowd across from us, I saw no one standing, ever, until the last minutes. There were times where the UB fans were lounder than us. Mind you it was liek once or twice, and the Animals werent cheering at that point in time either.

But from what I saw on average, no one was standing on teh bench side of the stands. I didnt really look behind us so I cant say anythign about that side, but im sure there were many on their feet.

But the last few minutes, everyone was up and cheering like, 'hey! its a close game, I think ill stop being a sloth and stand up' which coincidentally, was the whole game, what was the biggest margin excluding the end due to free throws? I think it was that 6-0 start for UB. It was a tight game the entire time, people were not as enthused as I would have thought is all.

I said I was not going to respond anymore on this topic, but I guess I have been requested three times to do so. When I made the comment "goofing one each other", I did not think that it would create such an uproar of controversy. I simply meant that it looked like five or six guys more interested in getting the crowd to pay attention to them and not the game. It's kind of like the kids that sit the bench in little league. They are more interested in "goofing around" than watching the game. That's all I meant and all that I saw.

Now, I do not have anything against the Anderson Animals. Fine group of young people. Enjoy yourselves. Have fun at the games. I commend you for taking time to come to the games and support the team. But, don't get on me when someone asks what is thought of your group. Just understand that it did nothing to enhance my game day experience. More power to you if it does yours.

Done with this topic. Finished.
