BG vs Buffalo

Post by orangeBGbrown »

Just to start off that was a great ceremony at the beginning of the game. Stacey and Thurmond both getting the recognition they deserved. But now to the basketball.

Easily the strongest half of basketball BG has played all year. The crowd was loving it and getting into it and it is just a great sight to see. Calhoun having a great game going 8 and 8 in the first with 3 guys at 8 for points. Strong game looking for a strong finish

Although I couldn't get my lazy azz up early and did NOT want to tailgate in the rain(kudos to the 10 or so that did!! :partyman: ), we did make it to the game and hung with Freak and Freakling 2! Ceremony honoring the arena's amazing history after the game was just OUTSTANDING!!! Nate Thurmond's speech was really neat. I'm so glad I was there to witness such an impressive ending to the arena!

Well done, athletic department, well done!!!!! :supz:

"BG was relentless. It's like they know that a good first pass on the breakout from a defenseman will almost always result in an odd-man rush against them - but they go in anyway and dare you to make that pass. All three of their goals were just grit and effort. That's a team any fan can be proud to support...they give all they've got."

I agree!!! Ceremony after the game was outstanding. I didn't want to leave my orange chair. I wanted to stay there longer. Fortunately I will have to make the 4 hour drive back on Tuesday to see the last Men's game at the old barn. I am hoping the athletic department recorded today's ceremony and will put the whole video on its website.

Talk about a big win. Now we've got another home game in the first round of the MAC tournament, and perhaps more importantly, we land in the #7 seed, which is the best non-bye spot to be in, IMO, because you don't have to face one of the leviathans of the East Division in the quarterfinals if you win the first round game. Instead we get WMU, who admittedly we've struggled against but I would much rather face them instead of Kent, Miami, or Akron, who I don't think we'd have any shot at beating.

Not only that, but should the planets align and we get on a hot run through the tournament, we wouldn't face Kent or Akron until the finals, that is if they don't get knocked out early.

Akron would play Miami in the quarters if they win. Going to have to beat them sometime. It would be Miami or Akron in the semis, unless EMU goes on a run.

+1,000!!!! It was such a fun day at AA and to get the win was great. Got to say hi and shake Anthony Stacey's hand after the ceremony. I too hope the AD recorded the post game ceremony and will offer it on DVD.

Great hanging with you FF and BGFan!

That's funny, I looked at the standings earlier tonight and I could have sworn they had Akron 5th and Ohio 6th. Apparently it's the other way around. I guess we'll worry about Akron/Miami if we make it out to the semis, if that situation were to come to fruition I hope its the Redhawks, I really, REALLY don't want us to have to face Akron.

Isn't that first line supposed to be Forward Falcons?
