Hey truth, I live in Troy too. When MAC games are on STO, check out TWC digital channel 99. It's not HD, but they do show the game. Oh, and it doesn't show up on the guide; you just have to know it's there.truth wrote:I caught the game on my iphone because we don't get STO on TWC in Troy. Even though I don't get the channel here which really bums me out, I am glad to hear STO is picking up MAC games.

Re: NIU thread
The defense for the first part of the game was absolutely amazing...loved that we held NIU without a field goal for nearly 8 minutes. I know they are young but playing shutdown defense like that while building a nice lead is a great sign. Continuing that effort in Muncie is key.
One thing that irked me a bit was people around the basket trying to gingerly lay the ball into the hoop. If you're elevating and have two hands on the ball, FLUSH IT! Missing little bunny layups is unacceptable. And the free-throw shooting on this team HAS to improve. We've got players that can hit a fade away jumper from 17 feet out with two hands in their face but they can't make an uncontested 15 footer. This must be fixed.
All in all, it was a good game for the Falcons, beating a team they are supposed to beat. Keep it up and continue getting better!

I enjoyed watching the game. The first half was TOTAL domination on both ends of the court. Something we haven't seen very often, but I'd like to see more of. It's fun to watch a total blowout. The 2nd half was rather boring just basically hanging on, but they never let NIU get back into the game and that's what you want to see in that situation.
All in all a great day for the Men. Hopefully they'll keep it up.
As to your question about the freshmen guards in your other post, I'm in agreement with you. I've seen some things I really like from Clarke...for one thing he actually DOES look to dish when he penetrates...and I've seen him get penetration better than our other guards not named Crawford as well. But he also makes some boneheaded freshman mistakes...I can live with those if he continues to show promise and develops.
I have seen next to nothing from Orr or Henderson to make me think anything of them. I think Henderson is an elite (for the MAC anyway) level athlete, but if he can't turn that into basketball skills it means little. There was one play where he went up for a rebound (that he didn't get) that really made me say, "Wow can he jump." But if he can't translate it into basketball ability, who cares?

No, but they did do Achilles Last Stand, No Quarter, Kashmir and Going to CA (besides the "hits"). And they were DEAD on...VERY impressive musicians.JWEIII wrote:For future reference: I need to be notified of all Led Zeppelin happenings in northeast Ohio. Sweet. Hammbone, I'll take you one step farther on Clarke. I think he penetrates more quickly and gets to the basket faster than anyone we've had, except McLeod. I think he need to solidify his ball handlling though.hammb wrote:Agreed.VDub26Falcon wrote:The defense for the first part of the game was absolutely amazing...loved that we held NIU without a field goal for nearly 8 minutes.
