What can really be said about this game? First half was one of the worst I've ever seen and the 2nd half was the best half they've played in a long while.

Was nice to see Orr actually being aggressive on offense. He actually looked like he wasn't worthless on offense in that 2nd half because he didn't just settle for 3s (which he cannot really shoot well). Kraus made some shots, Holmes was awesome, and Crawford was good Jordon in the 2nd half...after bad Jordon in the 1st. Quite the game, really.

Still, it should be noted Samford is really terrible, but a 15 point win is a 15 point win, and I'll take it. Hopefully they start playing with some intensity from the opening tip instead of only for a half.

He got on the court. Didn't do anything of note.

This game is probably a bigger indictment on Orr than anything. How can you be that bi-polar in two halfs? Just shows his teams aren't prepared or ready to play from game to game...hell or half to half.

Another solid defensive outing holding yet another team to their season low in points scored. Falcons were favored by 11 and got the job done with excellent play in the second half. Just amazing to me how we play 16 minutes a game (8 to start each half) with Holmes on the bench. Holmes was yet again a force inside altering all kinds of shots and obviously blocking shots while tipping and keeping balls alive on the boards on balls he couldnt get his hands on. Samford had scored 54 points both on Louisville and Memphis and 56 on Kentucky and even 69 on Toledo so tip your hats to our defense and guard ball pressure yet again.

Ya we do play good defense. Especially with Holmes on the court. Makes me wonder, why did we play all zone last year? Samford had awful guard play. It's gonna be a tough watch all year. I'll save anything positive for when we play on the road. Start like that on the road, and they will get boat raced. As for holding them to 42, and them scoring 56 on Louisville, that has to do with pace. We play and shoot in dry hump speed.

Parker is just now cleared to play- as in this game- coming off rib injury. If you have ever had a rib injury, you know that takes a while to overcome. Perhaps now w full practices etc, Parker can provide some assistance. Holmes' play as a first year guy is quite noticeable. We also need Clarke back- he will get there. Jehvon was just making a serious contribution before his ankle sprain. With Clarke, the perimeter rotation adds another pretty athletic guy.

Go Falcons!
