Tonight, we gain in the standings

Post by BleedOrange »

I just got back from the JAR where I watched Akron put some distance between us and Ball State in the standings. Both teams were without their best low post players, Jeremiah Wood and Terrance Chapman respectively.

Yes, Ball State was on the road with out one of their main players, but I was simply floored by how BAD they looked. They had no cohesiveness or flow at all. Beyond Chapman, the have absolutely no inside defense whatsoever. I'm mystified by how they were able to beat us so badly (actually, it was a little Muncie home cookin) and then win and Kalamazoo. They looked horrible. (On the other hand, Akron looks like a legit contender in the East.)

Akron is on a roll....they have won 5 straight. Dambrodt is doing a great job there...especially with Wood out for the year. I'm glad we have the Zips at AA this year. Akron is very legit. Nice write up about Romeo Travis in today's Akron Beacon Journal.

BleedOrange,

Didja see Lebron there? I read he was there!

I didn't see LeBron , nor did I notice anything that looked like an entourage. Too bad. That would've been quite cool. I'm a huge LeBron fan.

I did see, however, a good young team that will formidable in years to come. Romeo Travis is legit. He'll be among the very best players in the conference next year. He's 6-6, but plays more like 6-9. He is strong, has great footwork, and can hit the 3. I'm hoping that our recruit Louis Sullivan is a lot like him. They have freshman Cedric Middleton he looked really good as well.

Okay. Nice to see you're finally advocating something about our basketball program.
