Andrew Dakich
Andrew Dakich
Andrew Dakich, son of Dan Dakich, will be playing basketball for U of M next year. I remember Andrew running up and down the aisles during Falcon games and then shooting baskets after the games. Surprised Louie didn't try to recruit him.
Re: Andrew Dakich
Are we sure Louie is still recruiting at all?

Re: Andrew Dakich
If he had walked up and down the aisles, Louie might have been interested.
It's not the fall that hurts...it's when you hit the ground.
Re: Andrew Dakich
The shooting basketballs part doesn't help either. That might just improve our .419 percentage.

Dakich is a preferred walk-on, however, at Michigan not on scholarship. Not that his parents can't afford it.gmartin wrote:Andrew Dakich, son of Dan Dakich, will be playing basketball for U of M next year. Re: Andrew Dakich
Wasn't John Beiline the coach at West Virginia that Dan was going to replace, then returned to BG? Didn't Dan mention some "problems" with the program, for his return to BG?
Hmmmmmmmm.........seems rather ironic, doesn't it?

The coach before was Gale Catlett. Beilein replaced Dakich. Interesting connection, though.factman wrote:Wasn't John Beiline the coach at West Virginia that Dan was going to replace, then returned to BG? Didn't Dan mention some "problems" with the program, for his return to BG?

He always hinted that the AD at West Virginia, Ed Pastilong, wouldn't support him after he uncovered whatever was going on.

Re: Andrew Dakich
Purdue and Butler were looking at him as a preferred walk-on at one point too.
Re: Andrew Dakich
Story from the Detroit Freep that mentions the Dakich-Beilein-WVU connection.

Good luck to Andrew, except when playing the Falcons or Buckeyes.
